Wow looks as though getting these deals may be easier in store than online this year

I agree

You can browse the PC World web site and get it from there - no queues there!

Pricewise £149 is about the going rate for the TV anyway
#10
Really? I almost paid £149 for the non smart version last week so thought this was a mega deal, glad I waited.
Thanks for the link worked perfectly :)
#11
Cheers for the heads up buzyxbee couldn't decide whether wait in the queue or not. So just ordered.

It looks like its a good deal.
#12
Good thing I ordered from pc world website as you no longer get a queue on Curry's website. Looks like its down at the moment.

Can you get netflix on this?
#16
Will this perform well as a pc monitor for some gaming?
#18
I've got a Chromecast so wouldn't mind something cheaper.... and 24" TV deals for under £100?

This actually IS a PC monitor, not sure how good it will be as a TV...and the stand makes it look ridiculous.
#20
Anyone know if you can turn off the blue glow on the surround?
#21
Does this or the 27" have an ethernet connection?

It's not Freeview HD but is a good price for the spec

Spec says TV tuner DVB-T Freeview Tuner which is NOT Freeview HD contrary to what someone posted on here earlier

At 24", I dont think you really need HD to be honest... (unless you are sitting REALLY close)

It says it has Freeview HD
Up to 50 digital TV channels and 24 radio stations are yours free of a subscription fee, and many channels are now available in incredible high definition with Freeview HD.
#27
Its 24" so you should be sat close, but anyway has someone found any reviews for this etc? doesnt seem to exist according to google
#28
Has anyone got one of these yet? What's the picture quality like viewing TV?

I just reserved the 27" from Currys but not sure if I am actually going to collect it yet.

You could be correct. It's a bit misleading really. I only looked in the specification but that could be wrong as like you say in the description it does mention Freeview HD

Just spoken to a Currys salesman and they say it is definitely not Freeview HD
1 Like #31
Yeah it is missleading, it does only state a freeview tuner so the way they've worded the bit about freeview hd they could meen that with a purchase of a freeview hd box this tv can benefit from the hd channels, perhaps? would be wrong of them if that is the case
#32
Just cancelled my order as wanted an integrated HD box.
#33
Spoken to someone at Samsung and they say there is no integrated Freeview box at all which would make sense if it is a monitor
#34
It must atleast have a standard freeview tuner, its actually marketed as a tv monitor
#35
True. I am amazed at how little information the sales people know about the product
#36
Relax guys, it is a TV - user manual here: http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/LT24D390SW/XU

There is no product page on the samsung website but there is a support page with firmware and manuals. You may need to update the firmware to get any of the smart apps: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2018495

Found on t'internet
I've just bought the Samsung LT24D390SW/XU and was told twice before I bought it by Samsung (I rang again to check as I wasn't sure the first person knew what they were talking about!) that it had all the catch up services I wanted; BBCiplayer, 4OD, ITVplayer and Demand5. So I was expecting them to be installed already but they weren't and they're not in the available apps. On advice from Samsung I have updated the firmware and they have even accessed my TV remotely to see if they could find them. After this failing they told me to contact the companies directly to check that they are compatible. ITV Player say it's not compatible, 4OD say it should be and Demand5 don't work weekends it seems! :/

Does anyone else have this TV? I bought it from Currys but am pretty disappointed, and whilst Currys themselves didn't tell me for definite all those apps were available I feel that Samsung have miss -sold it to me so not sure what to do now, and advice?! Thanks.

Update: Samsung say they'll give me an RA number so I can return it to Currys, (so then I'll be back to square 1 of looking for a 24 inch smart TV) but I'd rather not if I can sort out the problem so any advice would be appreciated!
#39
If you read on, you will see that problem was fixed on 31/10 - just needed the store to be updated to make the apps available for this new model.
#40
Hi tirc83, if you have the TV/Monitor can you tell us if the integrated freeview box is HD (i.e. can you get the HD channels eg 101/102 etc) without having to have another tuner?
Thanks 24C
