EDIT: This has now returned to £39.99. Still a good price, if you want it.

T-Mobile have the Samsung M110 Solid on pay as you go for just £29.99!! This is a minimum of £39.95 elsewhere, as far as I can see (and that currently requires a top-up!). The phone itself is extremely strong, and therefore great for those who work outside, especially in construction industries. Next day delivery is FREE.

With a dust and splash proof rubber casing, the industrial strength Samsung M110 is built for tough workplaces. Its powerful battery gives you a massive 8 hours talk time and 400 hours stand by time so you'll never miss important calls. FM radio means you can listen while you work and speakerphone lets you keep talking even when your hands are full. You can take quick pics on site with the inbuilt VGA camera with a flash that doubles as a torch.

As for the T-Mobile plan, there's lots of little bonuses. If you top-up by £15 in a single Monday-to-Sunday week then they will give you £15 airtime to use the next week. They will also give you a free reward (free texts, minutes or web browsing) every time you top-up, although you have to opt-in by texting "GOODIES" to 441. They also have international calling passes and bundles of minutes, texts and web browsing which work out cheaper than just paying normally. Meanwhile, all UK calls are 20p per minute for the first two minutes each day and 10p per minute for the remainder of that day. Text messages are charged at 10p each.

It's also worth noting that during the check-out process, there's the option to check your local network coverage. DO THIS by changing the "No" box to "Yes" (on the screen after you view the price-plan). If you do this (it's called "Street Check") then you are eligible to return your phone within 14 days if the coverage doesn't meet your needs. There's a note with regards to QuidCo too - they will only pay out if the SIM has been active for 3 months, so don't buy via QuidCo if you don't intend to use the T-mobile SIM.

Apparently, it can be done by code. See this, taken from another forum:

EvilMonke on another forum

BACK UP YOUR FILES & Contacts(Held on phone) BEFORE UNLOCKING
This will also bring the phone to default settings

1. First do a CUSTOM reset: *2767*2878# (star 2767 star 2878 hash)
turn off the phone

2. take out the battery and sim and put wrong network SIM and insert a half of it,
so it won't ask for network password and shows "Insert SIM" message.
Now put the battery ,and switch the phone on .(phone shows "Insert SIM" message.)

3.With out turn off the phone push the sim fully in. At this stage the phone is still asking to "Insert SIM"

4. Make a FULL reset by typing: *2767*3855#(star 2767 star 3855 hash)

5. The phone should reboot working with "wrong" sim inside.

6. Make a Change the NCK password to 8 zeros by typing: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#(star 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros star 8zeros hash)

7. Now Disable network lock By typing: #7465625*638*00000000#(hash 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros hash)
Phone is unlocked (check with *#7465625#)

If you find that SPLock is still on afterwards follow the below

After you do the reset, check and make sure that your network lock is active by pressing *#7465625#. If it isn't active you must use this code to reactivate it, *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#. Then you have to deactivate the sp lock first. To do that you need to input *7465625*77*00000000*00000000#, (this will reset the lock) then you enter #7465625*77*00000000# (to disable the sp lock). Then you disable the network lock #7465625*638*00000000# and the phone is finally unlocked.

if that works it will be so good. i herd they need to be connected to a box and an online server to be unlocked.

I've seen a couple of people give the advice about the above codes online. Never tried it myself, of course. Maybe someone could give it a go and let us know how they get on? :)

Good Price and a good phone....

Used the above procedure to unlock the phone I bought from Tesco Mobile. Only difference was that the last step didn't work for me but all I had to was turn it on as normal, with the wrong sim in it, and just enter 00000000 as the network unlock code when asked and then 00000000 when asked for the next password...
Then voila! :whistling:

Voted hot but these wil only continue to fall in price...

Got mine at tesco unlocking works ,good tough phone

Hot, Thanks:thumbsup: Another phone I don't need:oops:

I bought one of these for a friend, and although it does what it says on the tin (ie tough) it was VERY basic and the screen is incredibly small by todays standards.

I couldn't seem to find out how to load mp3's on it to set as ringtone, and after my friend saw someones JCB phone, he wishes he had got one of those (although I think they are ugly yellow beasties)

Good price though - so heat added

(I paid £80 from Play about 4 months ago)

Got one of these from work, it's a horrible thing. Avoid like the plague!:x

Please give examples why this phone is horrible. Why should people avoid this phone if they don't have specific evidence of issues with it?
#15
i have this phone. battery life is good. and yea when you first look at it the screen is small but you soon get used to it and its absolutly fine. mine is locked to O2 and if people can confirm that the unlock details work then i will give it a go.

Only a £60 - £70 difference. :giggle:

This phone came out well on the Gadget Show when tested against the JCB. I got one from Tesco when they were doing the £20 inclusive airtime deal and am very pleased with it - although I do miss the Nokia UI. I can also confirm that unlocking using the codes works fine.

I keep forgetting - please confirm. If it's a T Mobile phone, will a Virgin SIM work (or is it the other way round?) Thanks

Good price for this phone, but the phone itself is horrible to use:

Screen is really small, and it only uses 75% of it to display text messages.
Takes a few seconds to switch key lock on as you have to hold the first button for a few seconds.
You can not upgrade / add to the phone's memory (looks like just 2MB), so don't bother trying to put your MP3 collection on it.
When typing a text message, if you want a number of symbol, you have to press the right button a few times to change "character set", select your symbol, press OK, then press the right button a few times to get back to normal letters.
Camera is only VGA 640x480 and quality is useless in low light and poor in bright light. Don't believe it can record videos.
There are no games for this phone.
One positive - the battery lasts for ages on standby

It should be fine.

It was never meant to be a "high-end" phone. It's a fairly basic phone, with a few basic extras such as the VGA camera and the FM Radio, that was designed purely to last...

Well I knew they weren't going to go down. :)

£39.99 is still a good price if you want it, but I've expired the deal now. It's still the cheapest price out there, but it's available at £39.99 elsewhere too so not as much of a deal.

Excellent deal, Thanks to OP, the unlock process works great. Just need to lift the battery up while pushing the sim card in, making sure the battery still connects to the contacts.

Is there a way to clear the horrible t-mobile branding?

Just tried this and it worked exactly as advertised.

Before unlocking it took a Utilities Warehouse SIM without any alteration. After an O2 PAYG with no trouble.
