This sucks. I bought this at £52 last week and it's still in transit! And now it's been reduced to £38! Anyone know if Amazon will refund me the difference? Considering I don't even have the drive yet and it was due for delivery on the 17th I think it's a fair request, no?

haha i just bought a 640gb for £46 off ebuyer because I couldn't find any cheap 500s.

Ah well
£38.00/500 = 7.6p/gb
£46.00/640 = 7.18p/gb

For those interested:

Seems I can't moan too much

Great find, I recommend this cheap but very workable enclosure if you don't have one:

I have that one and it works great.

First of all, do a screen capture of the new price with full link, then raise a customer service issue/ticket with amazon detailing your price complaint including those details, they should refund the difference or similar.

mumbojumbo
Seems to be on special at a number of retailers. Ebuyer are cheapest today @ £34.98.

But £2.99 delivery unless spending over £50 :(

yeah i got a carry case, cat5 cable and a few other cheap bits, so £4 of things you might/probably do need for free delivery :)

Ebuyer has a massive back catalogue of useful bits and pieces.

Or you could always go for the 640gb which is cheaper, just, per gigabyte.

I went for the 640 gig Samsung, very fast and silent!

I was looking at buying this for my ps3.

Son of a mother I paid about £50 for this the other week, and like Tony above its still in transit.

EDIT: Oh I thought this was the 640GB model, thats the one I paid £50 for. Fair Enough. Currently £49.58 by the way.

I'd say go for it, its stupidly easy to upgrade the fat or slim ps3s, just need an external drive to backup game saves etc and have to download latest firmware from their website to a usb stick (well this was required when I did it).
And you should think about picking up a PlayTV freeview adapter, great little add-on where you can actually export the MPEG-2 recordings to your PC (they are uncompressed .m2ts files). Very cheap now too.

Not always the case, I got a £8 refund on the difference on a HDD I bought the other month (dropped while in transit). The email said that it was not company policy but they would refund me "this time". Maybe I worded my email a little more "grovelly"?!?!
