THIS DEAL SHOULD BE BACK ONLINE EITHER TOMORROW 4TH OR FRIDAY 5TH OR SO THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS INFORMED ME.

The deal still exists in stores subject to availability of stock...

Hand picked for long battery life - Samsung N140 Netbook

The Samsung N140 is an elegant Windows 7® netbook that provides more than 6hrs of battery life with a (6 CELL) battery.

This sleek, stylish machine, weighs just 1.25kg and is so slender you can comfortably take it with you anywhere.

Experience powerful, energy efficient computing with the N140's Intel® Atom processor. It enhances your netbook's performance because it is designed specifically for mobile use.

Get online quickly and enjoy visiting your favourite websites, streaming videos or chatting with friends over Instant Messenger. Use the integrated digital LiveCam to enhance these chats with video and voice, or to start a video conference call.

The N140 has a 250GB hard disk drive, so you can save all your movies then watch them back on the 16:9 ratio LCD display. The integrated three-watt stereo speakers deliver a high-definition audio experience.

When you need to write an email, or edit a document, you'll find that the spacious keyboard makes typing a breeze. Don't worry about losing any of those important files, as Samsung's recovery solution will automatically back up your laptop's data to the hard drive at regular intervals.

The N140 is a streamlined, attractive and surprisingly affordable netbook. It combines high-spec features with loads of extras, including a 3-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth 2.1 and three USB ports; one of which even charges portable devices when your laptop is turned off!

The Samsung N140 is great for work and play on the go.

Is this 6 cell or 3 cell? The site says that it is 6hrs but I thought that the 6cells was more like 9-10hrs or less for intensive use?

Where does it say 6 cell? Says 360 mins and there is a 6 somewhere but I didn't see 6 cell? A good deal if it is 3 cell but very hot if 6 cell....

For this model it comes bundled as standard with a six cell battery but it would be prudent to double-check this if you can get it instore - trust but verify!

It should read 6 hours of battery life... (I'm guessing this deal is a 3 cell as a youtube video refers to a 6 cell as up to 9 hours, thats a guess)

I just got of the phone to some guy who's name i cant even pronounce, but anyway he assured me that it will ship with a battery capable of up to 6hrs

I spoke to Car Phone Warehouse customer service and all they could tell me was its a 6 hour battery, feel fee to call them on this number,

its a freephone: (0800 0855900) I hope you don't get the guy who's name I cant pronounce, he was pleasant but dumb.

Samsung make 6 cell batteries with different capacities. There are certainly 5200mAh and 5900mAh ones, possibly others.

And Win7 seems to have less battery life than XP.
#13
Can't see any 3 cell battery giving anything like 6hrs life so yes.

Really good deal BTW, probably the best of the current netbook deals.

The reason there are so many deals about at the moment is that there are new netbook processors on the way with better 3d capability (who cares?) and the 11.6" ULV laptops that have dropped in price.... and they have proper Windows 7.

#17
Right.... Here's the latest.... The stock is all gone, I just went to order another one for the Mrs and called up the customer service team on freephone: (0800 0855900).

They've informed me more are coming in stock either tomorrow 4th or friday 5th @ the same price. Call them and see, they are still open!

Keep your eyes peeled, this is a brilliant deal.

window 7, its a 6 cell battery most likely (battery life is usually slightly less with 7 due to using higher system resources)
Pretty good, but I'd like to see some more offers posted with the new n4xx series processor XD

Update - It is available instore!!!! Just popped past the one on the Chiswick High Road in London and it was there on the shelf, closest to the sales counter.

From what I was told it is a nationwide deal but there availability is dependent upon the stock instore and also from the depots that are on the go for Carphone Warehouse.

Only problem was I didn't have my camera phone with me to take a photo.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

That's pretty standard on the bulk of the netbooks out there I'm afraid, which have up to 10" screens in place unless you hook it up to an external monitor - it you want a higher screen resolution you'll need to look at the netbooks that come with 11.6" screens in place.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

I am writing this on my Samsung N140. Got it from Amazon for 299 two weeks ago. It is a lovely machine. Quick, portable, nice screen, runs Word, Firefox, iTunes, Spotify and Picasa all fine. I'm very happy with it and gutted its now only £229!! Awesome deal.

I can only assume it is just now I'm afraid, as I couldn't actually get my hands on a box instore to look at (there all locked up in the back I'm afraid) - my gut hunch is it must be a six cell and this is Carphone Warehouse trying to get rid of the older hardware stock i.e. the previous Compaq Mini 110c deal.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

This has got to be a 6-cell - you wouldn't get anywhere close to 6 hours on a 3-cell running Win 7!

Mobile Computer tested this machine with the 6-cell 5900 mAh battery and got 7 hours running XP, so 6 hours under Win 7 for the same battery sounds about right. Full review at:

http://www.mobilecomputermag.co.uk/200910131499/review-samsung-n140

Great deal by the way, heat added. But if you buy, you also need to add that extra gig of RAM...
