Looks great, can't justify having 2 laptops though :/

seems a good deal, i see the notebook isnt flat? some kind of hind legs on it or something?

Battery life is MAX, more likely to be around 7-8 hrs which is still good. Gets a hot from me

A question for those in the know, would something like this be ok for working from home via a internet service like Citrix?

Thanks

The 'legs' are on the battery, but they're not very big, probably stick down about 1cm, it's not a problem at all.

I get about 6-7 hours of it and that's with internet use and the screen fairly bright.

Does the OP work for the the company or something? As when the deal was first posted the offer code was posted in the item description on the website and has now gone??

The keyboards one of the best features of this netbook, even look in the review posted above, people in the comments praise the keyboard.

Cope with what? Anything that needs CPU power is a pain with an Atom, dual core or not. But if you just want to do some word processing and simple browsing, that should be fine.

Matte screens are excellent for people who are using netbooks on the go, as it is hard to be in perfect lighting conditions, especially in the day. However, if you are a vampire and do a lot of travelling, a gloss screen may be for you. The keyboards are excellent on these Samsung netbooks.

What's better this deal or MSI Wind U135 N455

I bought one with XP on it for £149.99, but have the option of returning it un-opened. I somehow am not too sure abot MSI, and know the N450 is slightly better than N455.

Are they pretty much the same?

Bloatware is a killer!
It installs it when u first switch on and takes 1 hr 30 mins to set up at the start.
Good netbook though

That battery life estimate is total BS, its probably most of the time on stand by mode with 1 hour use of paint or word, my previous laptop with similar specs lasted only 2 hours with light browsing.
#21
if you like 10% of money taken when you return a faulty item and they deny any problems buy from this bunch of jokers.

oh well lets hope trading standards take some notice for breaking distance selling laws

Thanks,
Just bought this netbook. I am not expecting a supercomputer here. One quick question- has it got in built microphone?
#23
http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/ to get rid of the bloatware. You can do it yourself manually this app is ok though for a quick fix.
#24
i paid £229 for mine 6 weeks ago. Hmm...

Good price, good machine.
#25
No HDMI port?!!

I have it and it will easily do 6 hours with internet browsing. If you turned wifi off and were just using word or something, it'd probably last 10 hours.

These sort of deals put me in such a quandry, whether to spend £50 on a new battery for my laptop (no longer mobile...it practically switches itself off between plug sockets) or buy a netbook for when I actually need to be cordless.

(Not helped by the fact that my desktop is in the middle of a near death experience so laptop is in full-time use currently)

I was in the same position a couple of months ago with an old (faithful) Toshiba I had, ended up getting a new laptop and don't regret it for a second.

I had one of these but it was so rubbish I took it back. Battery life nowhere near 10 hours- more like 6. Takes forever to boot up the first time you switch it on- ie over an hour! Full of bloatware and really slow. One of the keys came off within a day of first use. Bad buy.
#30
great little netbook. this is the plus version so the battery can last up to 10 hours.
#31
ordered thanks

Not accepting the wow-4 code for me :(

Keep the MSI mate, it's a wonderful little machine. You can speed it up by going into the bios and adjusting the setting there, on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the fastest). The default setting was 2 on mine to extend battery life. On 5 it runs 720p mkvs no problem. There's always the Eco mode (Fn and F8 I think) to save power when you're mobile.

Code wow-4 is not working, any ideas?
#36
As above code not working. Possibly expired overnight. I was originally going to purchase the Dell mini 1018 whats the superior model of the 2?

Netbooks do not come with DVD drives. You need an external one that plugs in a USB port- Around £20 will get you decent one

Good netbook though

Windows has this wonderful feature which lets you remove software...

Yes. Most people, however, have better stuff to do when they get a new toy than sit for 90 minutes waiting for the thing to turn on, then spend another 2 hours uninstalling all of the crap it came with, then the rest of the life of the machine thinking "this could have been faster had they not installed all that junk"...

Don't get me wrong, it's a great little machine, but it was a pain in the neck out of the box.

Anyone know a working code as WOW-4 doesn't work?
