The Red One has also been re-listed

Red Version

Its Windows XP - NOTWindows 7

Would you recommend this for a fifteen year old girl who browses internet, facebook, you tube etc. Does this do enough to cover this as she has an acer aspire which is now starting to fail. Would this be suitable?

Which is a good thing. These are slow with 7 and only 1Gb RAM. (I have the N145).

Yes, my n140 (using it to type this) is used as the family facebook, youtube, movie watching machine, garden shoutcast player etc, for the price, I'm contemplating getting this just to avoid getting choccy fingerprints on mine from the kids :)

My n140 with w7 runs fine, even on normal half speed mode, which it defaults too, have you put it in high speed mode?

good price. my bf has got one. takes a while to get used to the smaller keyboard though!

Same here..my N150 runs Win7 with no speed issues at all..Planned to upgrade the Ram to 2Gb after purchase but genuinely found I didn't need to bother.

I bought the Samsung 140p (Win 7 starter) from Carphone Warehouse recently and I've found it sluggish. I have an old MSI netbook (with the old 270 Atom CPU) running full Win 7 that's much faster. How do you change the speed? I wasn't aware there were speed settings!

I bought one of the red ones listed the other day on here...arrived today! Great spec for the price I have to admit.
The only downside (and I saw this in some reviews) is that some of the drivers are missing sometimes. I found this to be the case with the WIFI when mine came Not a big problem as all available on the net. Lovely little netbook I have to admit and seems pretty quick and more than adequate for doing web surfing, facebook, networking, etc etc.
Doesnt seem to be slow at all but as I said Ive only received it this morning so not tried everything yet and is looking super good and a mega bargain for £110!!!
Mine is a lovely in the red glossy lid and white interior. There is a small (and i mean tiny) little paintwork dint/mark on the lid but you have to look for it, otherwise its like brand new.
Registered on the samsung website aswell and its now cvered with samsungs warranty!
There is no instructions or manual with it but once you spend about 30 minutes initiating the netbook and installing the settings etc you will find installed a manual on the desktop.

Oh forgot to mention mine was advertised as having 160GB hard drive size but it actually has 250GB!

I don't seem to have this either. I expect it comes with some models/distributions and not others. If you don't have it, I would assume you are already on full speed.

Sold out now.

for the speed mode, I think it's application by application based from what I recall, pressing fn+f8 brings up OSD should be a running man on the actual key, there is also some other setting which I will try dig out. it defaults to 'normal' mode to conserve battery. There will probably be some settings in the battery power plan, I'm sure in unplugged mode this defaulted to 50% cpu speed for me. YMMV.

I got one delivered today from the previous £110 offer.

Was planning on putting XP on, but once I uninstalled all the samsung crap and Norton, it seems to be pretty quick.

For some reason, the wireless device driver hasn't been installed, will sort that out when I get home.

Looks a nice little machine, battery reckons it has 9 hrs 40 mins left on 86% (been on for 3 hours already!), so looking good.

£110 is a steal, I'm waiting for the police to come knocking.

Same for me with the wireless, maybe thats why they were returned - the one you need is broadcom- they have about 4 options on the Samsung website for wireless - look under the N145 modle - same spec

As above. Opened my black N150p today - in mint condition and unlike me, a bit of a looker. Fiddling with one or two drivers required but no big deal. Very good battery life, 250GB HDD, bluetooth and to my surprise, one of usb ports can charge other devices while it's off/in sleep mode. Absolute bargain. well chuffed.
