They are available from their outlet stores (I visited the One in Chester Yesterday) but are £129.99 in store and you do get a 12 month warranty in store

Don't be silly. If people expect too much from them and are disappointed, that's unfortunate, but to dismiss them as toys is borderline idiotic. Running Windows 7 on them with only a gig RAM is a big problem these have 'out of the box' though.

These serve a very useful purpose as small, light, cheap portable computers with exceptional battery life. How is that not useful, even given their limitations?

Disagree...due to the ION chipset they are more powerful than people give them credit for. Mine happily runs XBMC outputting HD movies streamed from my NAS. ION chipset allows Video processing in media apps and flash to be offloaded to the GPU instead of the Weedy Atom CPU having to struggle to process it. The GPU may not be the most powerful but it's enough to decode a 1080p MKV

Win7 runs well on them as does Office 2007 even with the standard 1gb Ram surprisingly. As for 'Slow' web browsing my N150 browses just as fast using chrome as any other PC in my house.

My one single criticism of the N150 is that the buttons on the mouse touchpad are a little too slim meaning that often instead of clicking i find myself moving the cursor as my finger brushes the touchpad. minor gripe really though.

Mine sits in standby for weeks on end sometimes and the battery seems to last weeks without a sniff of mains.

btw...I picked mine up as an open box return direct from Currys for £117 with 12mths warranty inc win7 so although this is a good price they have been cheaper.

and buy what for £110?? I see people criticizing but no other links being put up for cheap portable solutions....most laptops are used for browsing and surfing anyway!
So come on I would like links with alternatives for this price!

I bought a black one for £110 from Currys/PCWorld Ebay outlet the other day too.

It arrived today and i'm very happy with it :)

I recently bought an Acer One, and although mnie has the N550 (dual core) processor, and I have a Class 10 SD card permamently inserted to use readyboost, I've been really surprised how good the performance of it is. I maintly use mine for visual studio 2010 express (free download here) which is a pretty demanding app and it copes well.
#24
Why is the processor not listed? Is it an Atom?

your quite right i stand corrected..was thinking of my Revo...even more amazing then that it handles XBMC so well..!!!

yes those Revo and the emachines look good.

I do agree BTW that netbooks are often better than given credit for

Revo's are v.v. good. Mine sits mounted on the back of my Plasma running XBMC. Best media player I've found...

Mine got delivered and I was surprised to see it has a 250gb hard drive not the 160gb as listed. Unless that was the reason for the refurb, i.e. bad hdd that got replaced. I am more inclined to think the returns were due to a missing driver for the wireless card. I've had 2 of these and both had the problem after standard set up. You can get the driver from the Samsung site but I guess if you are not that techy you may just send it back (this version uses Broadcom drivers).

We have one paid £126.99 from there a few months ago, great bit of kit for the money.

Just got mine and its windows 7 starter and 250 gbhd
