Indeed they are
just purchased a memory upgrade to 2gb from crucial http://www.crucial.com
[Travel Expert]#27
Ordered thanks OP, after selling my old samsung netbook for a Dell Inspiron 1012, I regretted it ever since, problem after problem with the Dell and it's still under warranty and only 6 months old. Samsung battery life and keyboard are fab and I'll never change from a Samsung.... Cheers!
#28
HOT! Ordered and will probably get the 2gb RAM upgrade from Crucial, thanks to FatLadZ for the link.
#29
:)your all welcome and im sure you wont be dissapointed once the memory is upgraded 8)
i only feel its slow as my old netbook was on twice as much ram as this came with but well worth the upgrade for £17.99
[Travel Expert]#30
Arrived today, all seems good, using it now. Can anyone tell me what to take off it, there is so much pre-loaded junk! Also, I haven't installed an antivirus yet, don't want to put on the Norton stuff, any ideas what is best - Thanks.
#31
im using avast free
i used ccleaner to uninstall all the crap i didnt want and then used it to clean the registry.
works super fast :)
resume from the power switch is lightning fast after a lid close
[Travel Expert]#32
Thanks FATLADZ, I will install avast free, I'm really thick, but what crap don't I want! Obviously I've got rid of the stuff I know I don't need, e.g. skype and the google toolbar stuff, what else should I be looking to remove?
#33
just remove stuff you really dont want
use ccleaner to uninstall it http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
then do a registry clean with ccleaner :)
#34
Mine finally arrived. Took much longer than the 5 days advertised but for supposedly ex-display it's in perfect condition. Charged all day before first booting up although on first boot up I saw that it must have been booted before as no need to update anything, used ccleaner to remove bloatware, first full battery charge gave me just under 6 hours, have since drained fully, recharged and it's now fluctuating between 6 hours and 8.5 hrs. If it gives me 6 hours regularly that's enough for me.

Was waiting to see the unit before buying the 2gb ram. It does need it, browsing is fine but I see it struggling with streaming flash over BBC iPlayer and YouTube when running other applications. Extra ram should fix that.

Happy with the purchase.
