Usual voting from HDUK - cold at first - for many a daft reason and then the people that are interested vote properly - it's often best to ignore the first few hours of voting.

It's not an amazing price reduction so prob not a scorcher but nice to let people know where they are available.

Good thing is if there's a better price then someone will post it here and then those that want to buy will benefit

Yep, you won't find cheaper at this moment in time.

Mine arrived today from Dixons, paid slightly more than this last week before the price rises.

Whether it's the 'best' is obviously subjective but after much hands-on research in PC World, Currys and Comet this came out tops for our needs.

I cant guarantee it however most QVC TSV's are cheaper than the best prices on the street / online and often offer split interest free payments of between 2 and 4 months via credit or debit card...... Also QVC does 5% quidco

It will be online www.qvcuk.com or sky channel 640 from midnight friday night / saturday morning for 24 hrs or until sold out

Fair do's and thanks for the heads-up - think we'll hold off until the weekend.

Being slightly pedantic, you might want to edit your original post to 'You might find it cheaper' :)

lol will do....

I reckon its gonna be a pretty good deal on qvc as they have just had a teaser advert on for it and they dont usually do that very often.......

Maybe qvc are the reason why it was delayed releasing to the usual online stores if they have gobbled up all the initial stock.......

Cracking machine well worth the money. Someone I work with is forever using his!
#9
Mine's wonderful compared to the GF's Acer - the battery lasts all day & the keyboard is a decent size so I have totally mobile computing without having to carry or worry about mains power
#10
I was looking at Net Books yesterday and decided that I want a 10” screen with XP and a decent battery so this is right up my street. I’ll wait for QVC I suppose or take a punt with Amazon knowing I can return it if unopened.

I suppose the other alternative is the MSI Wind with the 6 cell battery option!
I looked at the Advent in PCWorld which is similar to the Wind but the battery is only 3 cell.
#11
It might not work out cheaper on QVC seeing that everywhere is now charging £330 for it. I think ts a gamble waiting for Sat. Lucky I've had my NC10 a month and got it for £270 thanks to a friends 10% discount!
#12
Nice machine - It's a quality unit!
#13
At Staples i could sell this laptop for £287 if i see fit by using £5 off vouchers that i have, with reduced rate VAT this laptop is only £292 anyway so the deal isn't remarkable by any means as that is a pretty standard price for this model on the high street!
#14
Voted hot. I've played with this laptop in Currys and it is great, just the right balance between portability and ability to type on the move. Most online retailers and high street have now put the price of this back up to 329.99 (think it might be 320 in Dixons) so I think this is a good price.

If only I had enough money to buy one *SIGH*
#15
mine (blue one) arrived from dixons yesterday...love it! paid £294 delivered.
TOP machine. got 5 star review in sunday times compared to asus, advent, acer and others.
might install OSX next year when it gets the right drivers!!

Last time i looked it was £303 on Dixons online.

I bought the white one in currys yesterday, it was 299.99 then £293 after vat reduction.

This is instore only and only the white version.;-)

Hi. Just sitting at work and realised that the back cover of the latest Viking catalogue has this at £279.99 inc Vat and del. Identical machine. They have black, blue and white.

If you have a Viking account, try there first.

Nice looking wee beasty this, and reviews say 5-6 hours battery life? Impressive.

Good to see the keyboard is the full width of the unit, like the Wind. Some of the 10" models don't, which kinda defeats the point - might as well go for a 9" model like the Dell then.

Just up the resolution a little to 1280*768, add a 3G internal modem, and I'll be buying :-)

Edit: ooh, apparently 3G models coming out:

http://www.liliputing.com/2008/12/asus-eee-pc-100h-samsung-nc10-get-3g-options.html

Hopefully it's just the addition of an internal card, which you could get separately. Might be they need to add an aerial though :-(

typo i assume: 1034x600

1024x600 is more likely.

I have an HP netbook with 1280x800 screen - much much better for web browsing
#22
The battery on mine failed after only 4-5 days. So much for being a "quality" machine.

Not so sure he did. As far as I know the best price from play after discount and Quidco was £273.
#26
my other half ordered one of these the other day if anyone's looking for a very similar alternative - https://www.oyyy.co.uk/product.php/74333

£5 cheaper and another £8 off via quidco.

Do you run multiple apps all day and still have the battery last, or are you using minimal resources?
#30
Hot deal for now but could be worthwhile wait and see what price QVC come up with (and see how much p&p is). But then Amazon might run out of stock or change the price by then. Just some things to consider...

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and I'm always using it. Commish, I'm usually running internet and Word at the same time and then windows media player if I don't have the radio on the net. My battery generally lasts between 6-7 hours with the Bluetooth switched off and screen at 3/4 brightness(which is still really bright). It runs really quiet too.

Ordered the black NC10 from Amazon for the same price last week and arrived yesterday. Lovely piece of kit.

Believe me, I priced around for this model for weeks extensively and Amazon was the best deal.
What prompted me to order it last Friday was that nearly all the sites added a tenner to the price, coincidentally just before the VAT reduction whereas Amazon didn't.

A word of advice for anyone ordering this; Amazon, by default, tell couriers not to leave with a neighbour if item cannot be delivered so make sure you contact Amazon to ensure that it can be left with a neighbour. Further to that, you have to leave an authorising letter from yourself with the neighbour. Courier used for my delivery was City Link.

I've got OSX on mine right now, works perfectly only had to swap out the wifi card and thats it, get a good 5 hours on osx with usage, only thing not working is the lan, you can't control the brightness and using headphones are a bit iffy other than that everything works fairly easy due to somebody creating a special package just for the nc10,

but have to agree with others a cracking machine with an awesome battery life.
#33
Very nice, may get it
#34
Price just gone up to £329.99 :x Nearly ordered one this morning aswell, oh well will wait till the new year now.
#35
You can still buy the NC10, well one of the three for about £300 elsewhere.
#36
blue one now at dixons
309.99 less 10 with SAVE10 code
= £299.99 delivered

(less instant £7.50 with egg card)

That one looks good too, but no stock of the black option and it's a tad heavier too. The Samsung sounded much better when it was available at £273, I guess.

Hi,

There is stock of the Asus eee1000H at oyyy. Mine arrived yesterday.......:-D
It's great I love it!
I already posted it on UKHD last week.....
