The 2010 Pinetrail netbooks are starting to surface and get reviewed
The performance difference from Current Diamondville CPUs is minimal but battery life is 12-15 hours ( manf. figures!) but this is still comparable as new kit will be £100+ more

The problem is that Intel are pushing Nvidia out of this market with Pinetrail. Nvidia have the better GPU solutions for this market. OK a netbook isn't up to much on the gaming/graphics front but flash acceleration is important to people especially with more and more streaming services becoming available.

is this cheap ? or do you think i should wait untill after xmass ?

No ION 2 will be compatible with PineTrail processors:

I got one of these from CDiscount for £240 but with 40% Ashes credit back so a great deal. I have to say it is a very impressive little machine and everything works smoothly.

In contrast, I also spent hours and hours tidying up a new Acer One for a niece and it was a nightmare.

What seems to be the problem with Laptops Direct?

Netbooks are about battery life not performance
Intel have said that they will put full HD into onboard graphics til 2011

Ion never really had an impact on netbbok market ( nettops maybe)
Impending broadcom chip and ION 2 are both moot for netbook ( maybe on lappies)
Look at the stats for Nvidia Tegra combined with an ARm CPU

for content consumers this is perfect - content creators might need a keyboard and more horsepower

These are REFURBISHED NOT NEW !
#15
In other words you are paying for a used netbook - a very important fact which should ve been emphasised.

I'm not sure they are - if you click on the "Refurbished Units In Stock" thing, it shows a load of refurbished units, but they're all under £200, so I think the main button if for new units??
