I noticed these just before Christmas at this price and thought I'd have to wait a week or two. I went into the store today to be greated by a new price label of £322. I was informed that the price went up 2 days ago and there wasn't anything they could do. Something to do with the exchange rate.
I then got chatting to another sales assistant who mentioned that they were still scanning at the lower price of £292.63. This is atleast £30 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen, and I was able to walk away with one.
It seems that Carphone Warehouse only do the NC10 at the Westfield London store, but if you're in the area (and their computer hasn't been updated) you might get lucky.

They will start dropping the price once the sales period s over & they can't shift them.

Same price as at Staples.....If you have a PC World and Staples near you then get it price matched and you'll have it for under £290

Good deal if you can get it, I just bought it from Amazon for £311 (had £100 in vouchers so made sense)

My father ordered the black one from John Lewis the other day for £322 (not yet arrived) .. I explained that they really ought to be £299 or *less* but he made the valid point that JL are much better for returns and also offer a 2 year guarentee (not that netbooks should be kept that long, but the principle.. ) .. I am similar in that sometimes I would rather pay more knowing that I have bought from a quality retailer than for less and have problems down the line..

John Lewis?
It's a myth - been messed about with them last January, and won't be repeating the experience any time soon :-(

Well, I am sure that your experience comes nowhere close to one I had with returning an item to Curry's last year bought in the same week. From that moment on I vowed I would never buy anything from them again (and I still have over £400 in vouchers to use). I have had experience myself with JL and have got nothing but good things to say about them in terms of a returning item within 28 days. Attempt this with Currys and you'll probably feel humilated with your attempt as 4 or more members of staff gang up on you with lie after lie. -- But this is digressing...

Yes, I have had wonderfully experiences with Currys, and also (in particular!) COMET who are appalling in ways I could not dream up, if I had not experienced it!

JL however is no better or worse, like all of them, when it goes well, it goes well, just don't put too much faith in them solving problems when it doesn't and most of all, make sure you can carry your own goods on your back when they do get delivered - buying goods on the basis of them being "better" can come as a shock - it did to me on that occasion when as it happens I could have bought it quicker cheaper and better elsewhere :-(
