This is a great deal! NC10 goes for just under £300 usually so this is a steal for inbuilt 3G. I don't think people are reading the title properly. Heat and rep added ;-)

The price is good for one with the integrated modem, but not sure most will see that difference.

Personally have the standard NC10 (the earlier model), which cost less than this and I can simply plug my mobile into the USB for the same functionality.

I'm waiting for the NC11 which comes in a few weeks, has Vista, 120gb drive (smaller but is 7200rpm), weighs 20% less and battery life is apparently 15% better.....Also the resolution has been improved and gloss screen added, some forums have also reported it may be 3g which would be sweet....The NC10 will go for around £200 on ebay when this is released, the NC11 has an RRP of £319.99

Oh also speakers are 3 watt as appose to 1 watt on the NC10

I have an NC10 (with XP) and I realise now why I hate Vista so much! Installing Vista on the new model is criminal!

Output from speakers is poor, never had a problem with display in bright lights, upgraded to 2mb RAM and it an awesome machine that fits nicely in my wife's handbag.

Would my Vodafone TopUp and Go mobile broadband sim work ok in this laptop or is the sim locked to the dongle they sell you with it?

Thanks

Are you sure about NC11? Samsung has just released a new range of these netbooks (N110, N120) Are you suggesting more models will be released in a few weeks? All the internet posts I see about NC11 are from Dec 2008 - so perhaps NC11 is actually N110 or N120? :?

Samsung Netbooks:

NC10 10" Intel Atom
NC20 12" Via Nano

New Netbooks:
N110 10" Intel Atom
N120 10" Intel Atom
N310 10" Intel Atom

Full Spec here...

I have seen all of them and for me, the NC10 is the best value at the moment and does not have the highly reflective gloss screen.

Less hassle, less chance of the modem getting knocked and broken and possibly better reception (bigger aerial).

There's nothing wrong with Vista, but installing it on an atom-powered PC would be a bad move.

I think this month's PC Pro did a test where reception tended to be much better with the USB dongle than with built-in HSDPA modem. Something to bear in mind if you live in a low signal area.

Try Windows 7 on the NC10 and notice the difference

great deal for the intergrated modem - Think the poster who suggests that the nc10 will go for £200 on ebay is being overly optimistic. Its a cracking netbook and has very good reviews.

also 2.5% quidco

Finaly dived in today. GR8 deal and exactly what I have been waiting for with the NC10 with HDSPA. Many thanks. H&R

Also, if you visit an Asda store with your receipt they will sell you an extra 2 years warranty (to 3 yrs) for £56, which seems a very good deal too. John Lewis is the same price as this with 2 year warranty but no HDSPA, and you add £145 for the 3rd year. All other stores selling HDSPAs are much dearer.

i do a search in Asda Direct, all the Full Specification of NC 10 put down as have Integrated HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps, not only the black one, just wonder is anyone know is true or not? i want to go for it, but worry it just a mistake of the spec. i don't want waste time. is any one know?
#18
I think this deal is cracking considering its the same price as the non-HSDPA version.
NC10 is a fantastic netbook as well!

This confused me too, so I emailed Samsung. They said the HSDPA model only comes in Black so I went for the black one marked down from £400 and it arrived within 24hrs. It's fab. I'm really pleased I went for it (even though it took a while to set up the mobile broadband - PAYG Vodaphone - also from this site!).

I saw that and ordered the White one with HSDPA. No HSDPA - will have to go back...

Does anyone know if the N110 (The NC10 Replacement) will be featuring a HSDPA model on their range?

All i can see atm is the standard N110 sold from currys, PCworld and dixons

The N110 btw has longer batter life (8-9 hours) larger trackpad, better casing (ie no cheap chrome edge) and a glossy screen

Can't see anything about in-built HSDPA on them tho, unless i've missed something

Black arrived fine, has hdspa. Any recomended tweeks, upgrades or accessories for the new toy?

Have a look here

Everyting you need to know. I have the old (non HSDPA) version and all I did was (a) upgrade RAM to 2GB (very easy) and (b) get rid of the bundled security software and replace with free Avira, Malware Bytes and SmartDefrag. Very quick and capable machine for its type - enjoy!
