True but still the cheapest around. Not by much by still cheaper. I have been trying to get this netbook for a while at the price you originally posted.

Its a great little netbook by most accounts.

LOL i thought the idea of these netbooks is making them small but they are gradually getting bigger !

Call them Netbooks or portable laptops I am not bother. A similar size 'laptop' with 6h battery time will cost over 1K so the little Samsung fits the bill for me. :)

Be aware, the Via Nano CPU takes some getting used to, I personally found it very sluggish and annoying, and it felt like there was a bottle-neck in the system that was causing the problems, however, the rest of the netbook is fantastic!
If Samsung put the Atom N280 CPU in this netbook I would buy it in a flash!
Anyone know if they will?

Cheers.

Maybe yours was faulty, this review and benchmarks says exactly the opposite?

In our tests, the Nano comes out ahead of the Intel Atom, particularly in internet performance. That superiority is evident in the area of JavaScript processing. More and more web sites, and modern internet applications such as Google Mail, use computationally intensive technique1s. So performance in this area is crucial for a satisfactory internet experience. Image zooming and JavaScript animations are noticeably smoother running on the VIA Nano than on Intel's Atom.

Yes I have read several reviews stating the Via is comparable with the Atom, however other NC20 owners agree with me that its not as good really.
If you wanna take a punt and can afford the high price for what is basically a netbook then go ahead, but I am only stating my experience after having owned one myself for real and not just a 'review' machine.

Good luck.

Cheers.

It sounds like it might be a problem with the NC20 rather than the Nano then.

Perhaps, but I did install more ram and changed a few programmes for less intensive ones (virus, firewall etc.) to see if it helped, but it didnt, so I thought that for £370 it just wasnt worth the hassle, but if Samsung ever release an NC20 with the new Atom CPU then I will reconsider :)

Cheers.

Well, I got an email from Dixons asking to call them to confirm some security questions otherwise my order would be cancel. The email looked dogy so I will ignore it and if they cancel my order, so will be it.
#15
Surely 12" of screen defeats the purpose of a netbook?
#16
My god Dixons customer service is rubbish! I had to cancel the order as they are unable to arrange delivery. Never seen a company so unproffesional.

There is a name for it between a netbook and a laptop, and I think its
ultra-portable or perhaps mid-portable and thats for anything over 10.2 and under 15.4
