The camera itself looks a little boxy to me but to get a 10.1 Megapixel camera for £99.99 seems like a good deal.

Main Specifications:
10.1 Megapixels
5x Schneider Optical Zoom Lens
2.7" LCD Screen
Face Recognition and Red Eye Fix
Smart Touch User Interface
Advanced Shake Reduction
Advanced Movie Mode (MPEG4)
ISO 1600

With a precisely-crafted Schneider lens, 10.1 mega pixel CCD and 5x optical zoom , the NV11 is a camera that picks up even the tiniest detail to bring you a beauty unlike anything you have ever seen before.

The ASR technology prevents the degradation of image clarity and colour common to flash photography. With ASR the effects of camera shake are reduced in low light conditions. You can even take well exposed, sharper pictures in low light without using a flash at all. It guarantees brighter and more natural pictures. The Samsung NV11 also has an auto sensitivity feature that automatically adjusts sensitivity according to the ambient exposure conditions up to ISO 1600.

The innovative face recognition technology supports more beautiful portrait picture taking. This function automatically recognises the face of a subject and optimises the focus and brightness in shooting.

Equipped with world class features, the NV11 consistently delivers exceptional image quality for the demanding semi-professional user.

Bought this camera from Play about two weeks ago. Extremely impressed. Solid build and easy to operate once you get used to the smart touch user interface. (Took me about three day's to get the hang of it.) Images are superb, crisp and bright. Have inserted a 4gb SD card, which gives me 2034 shots at the 7mp setting. At less than a hundred quid, this camera is a steal.

I bought it's predecessor, the NV10, from Amazon for my other half at Christmas and it cost more than Play are asking for this. Gets pretty good reviews. Been in Stuff magazine's top 10 for awhile too I seem to remember.

Tempted to get one myself!

That's my Mums birthday sorted (Although admittedly I might borrow it to use :whistling: )

Must be better than my aging Powershot A85!

For Albar76.
Camera uses its own rechargable battery. Lasts ages. I ordered two more replacemnent batteries and a charger from Hong Kong . (Cost £9 including delivery.) It does have a very powerful pop up flash on the top.

Amended accordingly. Funny how when you're posting (well, when I'm posting) you miss the obvious things. Apologies.

Advanced Movie Mode (MPEG4)

But I suspect it's not going to do vhs or betamax.

Good review here: http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/samsung/nv11-review/

The lack of proper image stablisation makes it unsuitable for beginners, imo.

Quote from review: Advanced Shake Reduction (only available in that one shooting mode) is a digital image stabilization feature whose inner workings aren't clear. It appears that the camera actually takes two exposures and somehow combines them into one photo (thanks to DP Review for the tip on this). The ISO is boosted to 200 as well, which "noises" things up a bit as well.

but having tried it with one that arrived yesterday, seems to work quite well - only boosting the ISO to 200 seems to give acceptable results

This is something i`m interested in aswell, as I have had pretty poor results from my Fuji F455 Finepix over the last two years.

I was just away to buy the Pentax Optio V10 for £90 of Jessops and now looking at this.

Been looking for a camera for my A levals coming up and this seems perfect. Already bought after reading plenty of very positive reviews!

Hot!

Don't forget that you can get a case or a tripod that's been reduced to half price for half price again! £14.99 case or tripod for £4.99 :D and you can use a Varsitycard to get another 5 per cent off the total :D Hope that helps. Just order mine. Cheapest I could see it elsewhere was for about £150.

So tempted to get one of these, could do with a camera.

You're going to take A levals! Are you sure about that? I mean could be a waste of time if you haven't learnt to spell yet :giggle:

so has anyone from here who bought one of these got any opinions?
i bought one through here.
i'm a camera novice,so have been mainly using it on auto, but the picture results seem to vary quite a lot, even when on the same settings.
sometimes amazing pics, sometimes zoom gives great pics, but other times not.
anyone got any tips on this?
someone told me its not always best to use on full 10mp setting?
distance photos dont seem great but occasionally they are great.
when i blow the pics up on my pc,they lose detail petty quickly, again, mainly.
so,any tips or advice for a novice?
cheers guys

The Kid, not entirely sure what you mean by flip screen although it does have a flip up flash.

Albar, what mode are you in? it might be best for you to use ASR mode, keep the ISO down to 80/100 to avoid noise when blowing up. There are so many settings before you can start getting top notch pictures. You need to read the pdf which came with the camera.
