Samsung omnia
I think its a good deal considering very few firms are offering it free on a 12 month contract and specially after quidco.New phone + the no of minutes @27.50 cant be bad.

Slim, sleek, and bursting with features, the Samsung i900 Omnia provides the ultimate in mobile technology. Rivalling the iPhone and Touch Diamond, the awesome i900 offers a superb 3.2" touchscreen with patented TouchWiz UI, 5MP camera with face detection, HSPDA at 7.2 Mbps, and a mind blowing 8GB memory. That simply scratches the surface! Based on the most up to date Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, youll also find Pocket Office, GPS including navigation and geo-tagging capabilities, a host of connectivity options, multi-codec support and more. All this in 12.5mm - what a fantastic phone!

QuidCo now upto £150...

good deal.no point in voting cold as there is no better deal available on the market for his phone!

what is the quidco cashback on this?

EDIT: just checked, £90 cahsback from quidco
#3
Has anyone found a better deal than this un on this phone please let me know
#4
reasonable, reasonable, slightly cheaper monthly tariff available as well for £30 but lesser minutes.
#5
Not many texts for the money regardless of what phone it is. If it's anything like the Tocco then it's an even worse deal. For the same money but an 18 month contract you get 600 mins and unlimited texts, I still wouldn't have that phone after having briefly owned a Tocco.
#6
that depends on whether u r a texter or just prefer more minutes and by the way I would any day prefer a 12m to a 18 month deal which seems to never endiing. it does not matter whether u like the phone or not but it matters if the deal is hot or not. If you have a better deal than this one kindly post it .

Hot !

Would of jumped on this deal but I'm currently already in a contract. Don't think I'd want to be forking out £55 each month !

Great deal - I've had my eye on this phone since it came out and have not found it free on a 12 mth contract anywhere!

Only problem is that I've already upgraded with 3 so tied in until Christmas 2009. I used to be a two phone man but I'm now a reformed character and swore off paying for two separate contracts or I would have gone for this ;-)

Of course it matters if the phone is likeable lol, hence to me it's not hot. It's got lots of features but having read reviews I can safely say it's not that great.

Just look at the stylus LOL

Does this plan include any internet access or do you have to take the £7.50 add on?
#11
no internet access

I ended up paying £27.33 over 18 months, 400 minutes 400 txt with the so called unlimited web browsing, which is 200mb with o2. Vodafone does offer 500mb, from what i've been told some providers barely offer 10mb. But if you bare in mind some people may sell this phone and use an old phone, this is a good deal voted hot. Just to add a comment on whether the phone is, in some peoples mind rubbish, this is a very good deal, surely that's what the forum is all about.

Well I'm still waiting for delivery of the phone, Tuesday or Wednesday. I have used Windows mobile on several pda's found the software very good, never crashed, the biggest problem was loss of data but that was due to hardware when the battery completely dies, not sure with this phone but I just set the pda(wm software) to back up all at %10 battery. I much prefer windows to mac, just find it far more user friendly. I may post a quick review of the phone as so many people are very interested.

would interested to see what someone who is experienced with win mobile thinks of it, as a lot of the bad reports have come from people who are used to a normal mobile phone

At this very early stage I would advise people to wait for a decent review, I will gladly post one or answer any questions, not to sure what the best way to do this would be, any suggestion welcome. As I said I have used many mobiles and many windows mobile software but never the two in one. People are worrying me at the mo going on about wm issues, but I love my gadgets and haven't had one in a while. From what I've heard the design team for the Omnia after much market research compiled a list of features people wanted, they then handed the list to the big cheese to pick the features he wanted, big cheese got the wrong end of the stick and O.K'd the entire list. All I know is there was allot of time and money invested in this phone and Samsung really want it to be a class leader, I'll post in a couple of days whether or not they managed it

I went for this in the end. Just hoping the phone is decent, was told there was stock into today so I'm just awaiting e-mail confirmation.

There's a few reviews about but hardly any of them are really in depth. I haven't come accross any reviews that rate it really low though.

Mines been placed on Back-Order, lovely !

Had vodafone ring me this morning to put the order through as they got 10 in stock. Got told I couldn't have it for free unless it was a 18 month deal so I directed her to the webiste and was told it was a mistake but she authorised it anyway.

So £35 over 12 months as advertised in the end, she said she would be flagging this up with the online dept so It may not be avaliable for much longer ?.

Not sure if Quidco will come through now though !

Mine tracked fine, wether they pay up or not is another matter !

Had an E-Mail through this morning form Vodafone stating my order is ready for despatch but I'be already got my order ?.

I'm guessing they have put the order I completed over the phone through seperate to my online order. Guess I'll just have to send that one back !

Apprently most do as there is a software bug with the Vodafone firmware. There's new firmware currently in testing so there should be a fix soon.

You just can't explain some things, this is one of them !

There certainly isn't any better deals around.

I was about to order this online and caved in at on the last page. At this stage I wasn't able to put in my PAC code for some reason.

As Voda tracked my details they called me last week and offered me the same deal but said they would match the Quidco offer of £90 off (I am guessing this would be taken off the monthly line rental). I didn't have my PAC code when they called me so couldn't take the deal but they are supposed to be calling me back this week.

Are people getting there orders through? I ordered mine last Wednesday and still have not received a dispatch notice, got one validating the order but no dispatch. Quidco seems to be OK though
#29

Omnia is now back in stock at Carphone, after much waiting mine is being delivered tomorrow. Got the call today

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but as this phone has the so called "unlimited web" I just want to make people aware of some of the restrictions; With o2 you get 200mb of data, fair enough, but what they don't tell you is there are some major restrictions,
1. Use with Data Cards or Modems;
2. Instant Messaging,
3. IP Telephony,
4. Point 2 Point file sharing and file transfer,
5. VoIP (e.g. Skype™), This uses a huge amount of data, around 100mb per hour( but don't quote me)
6. Video and TV streaming,
7. Slingboxes; and
8. Use in conjunction with routers.

Spoke to o2 today, the sales team are not %100 on all of these(as they plain didn't know) but there are serious restrictions. And it seems I can't get a copy of the "small print" at the mo to check fo sure

Oh the good new is I have the phone, the bad news is it's still in the box sitting temptingly close. My biggest issue is with o2 fair usage, has so many restrictions even they can't tell me what I can and can't use, but I know you cant access video or music as I spoke to them 20mins ago. So I said I want to cancel my new contract but will think about it. I already have a good deal @ £27pcm 600mins and unlimited web and text, I think I'm gonna have to push for the same deal on a 12month and see if they bite, If not I'll never know how good or bad it is. There is allot of mixed reviews but I think most of them are software issues which will be sorted out with updates. I still want the phone, just minus the headache.

Oh right
My cousin has the sim free version from ebay.
He said there are alot of bugs with it but he requires a new software upgrade or something. I had a little play with it but not sure on how to use it myself lol, but I couldnt do much due to alot of freezing etc...
When he fixes that, I want another play because I am tempted by this offer lol
#35
Does anyone know if this deal still available?
#36
Hi,

Thanks to the poster have just ordered it, I think it will be one of the last 12 month deals available! Heat left!
#37
Probably the first thing you want to do is visit modaco and get the firmware updated. The voda firmware is very buggy, the latest release HI2 is very stable.
I think the phone is great, but with all WM phones its not for the majority of phone users out there, if your expecting a normal phone then you should probably avoid as you will only end up returning it because you cant figure it out.

I have had this phone FREE on a Vodafone contract 12 months 600mins 250 texts and unlimited internet(500mb) for £27.99 a month.I sold the phone on ebay for £395 but had a good 2 days playing with it, to be honest it did tend to freeze a lot and the interface was very clumsy when looking for basic things like internet and emails. The stylus was definately needed when using the Windows operating side of the phone as icons and text were very small and fiddley , but for basic functions like text and putting in phone numbers for calls, your finger on the touch screen was very easy to use.The touch screen was bright and had a nice positive vibration when touching, all in all if you have a briefcase and need the applications then this could be the phone for you, if you just want a flash phone to show your mates down the pub then buy this baby and you will soon be regretting it.This is only my opinion
#39
I'm not sure what to do - I spoke to someone in the Vodafone shop last week and he told me it's a terrible phone and he suspected Vodafone would pull it soon. But he also told me it didn't have a QWERTY keyboard which I understand is wrong.

Anyone know if you can retrospectively port your number to Vodafone, or do you need the PAC code when you sign up? I'm in contract with o2 for a couple more weeks - will they give me the code now or do I have to wait?
#40
Thanks for the advice guys, I am used to windows mobile so no problems there, but have heard other shop assistants praise the omnia as well, anyway will see what happens when it is delivered!
