Almost bought this but reading through people's experiences with the TV in past deals put me off bigtime, went with Samsung UE39F5000 for 229 instead.

Haha that's hilarious. Thankfully it seems the wiser ones are online instead tonight. It's good to see a plasma post without the usual "need to re gas it after 4 years!", or "cold 720p!" comments.

Power usage is why Plasma TVs died out, other than that they are superior in nearly every way.
I believe the actual reason is that are too expensive to make, the power usage has dramatically improved since they first came out albeit not as good as LED...
