This TV / monitor combination seems to get good reviews for an all in one solution.
You can connect the PS3/Xbox via HDMI and the PC via DVI and not worry about external sound as it has built in speakers.
Then the bonus of a TV tuner that when connected to an external freeview / Sky box will be digital ready.

20", TV , Monitor and games display seems good value to me at £179.99

I bought this when it was £200 and took up RS's excellent (by my own experiences) 5 year Supercare Warranty for a percentage of the buy price.

It's a great kitchen telly, with excellent contrast/viewing angle/response time and a lovely remote.

Hot Hot Hot.

That product you point to is a refurb model.

Brand new its over £200

http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Displays/Monitors/TFT+20+-+23/22%22+LG+M228WA+Wide+DVI+Monitor%2FTV?productId=28925

I have read the reviews and Samsung seem to come out on top when compared to LG, have a read on ebuyer for some personal opinions.
Sound from the LG panels is nothing short of dire, even the reviews on Aria say the same.

There is also no HDMI for games consoles on the LG........The sammy seems to have it all

bought 2 of these for my teenage sons when they were £200 a few months back, plus 5 year supercare for only 10% of price
simply the best quality 20" monitor/tv around.

Paid over £200 earlier this year for my lads bedroom as a combined TV/PC monitor/console monitor. It looks good, and he is more than happy with the performance.

Looks a great deal, except most people now want their Digital TV / freeview built in, this is Analogue only and therefore you'll need an extra Freeview box for most places within the next twelve months.

I'm going for one as i'll take my feed off my Sky+ box

joylove

excellent contrast/viewing angle

I have to disagree about this.
It's pretty good if you sit right in front of it in a dark room, but during the day or when viewing from slightly above or below it it's not great, and I certainly wouldn't describe it as excellent.

Overall though it's a great TV/Monitor for the money, but it does have its limitations.

Took the plunge yesterday and bought one myself.
Spoke to the guy in Richer sounds who himself did not realise the TV had already dropped a further £20, was £199.99 last week.
He advised me against buying it if the main purpose is a TV, but for me its firstly a PC monitor / PS3 display and then a TV as a bonus.

Set it up within 20 mins, DVI to the from PC , HDMI from the PS3 and Coaxial for the TV picture, and there are still loads of inputs spare, Scart , S-Video , Composite.

The speakers built into the TV are great of the home office but if more volume is needed you can simply plug external speakers into the headphone jack.

I think this model is being phased out as he told me in the shop they have 8 in stock and when they are gone they will be getting no more in.

Also like to add it comes with samsung 3 Year warranty.

I went ahead and bought one the other day I can't believe how fast it arrived it litterally came in 2 days after I placed an order online. :)

Anyway the TV and HDMI cable came to just over £200.00 in total and considering the price of the TV it really is a bargain the screen is a nice large size and the picture quality on my Playstation 3 is incredible through HDMI. I have the Playstation 3 set to 1080p and whatever way you slice it the graphics are amazing they are just so clear and vibrant. Grand Theft Auto IV looks at least 3 or 4 times better than it does on my standard TV set. The sound is also great and perfectly clear. Normal DVD's look great as well you can see some e picture quality enhancement of course a Blu-Ray movie will look so much better.

The only problem I had was slotting the TV monitor into the stand that caused some brief frustration. Due to it's glossy look the TV is a finger print magnet and collects dust like anything but it's no big deal.

Overall I think the TV is really fantastic for this price thanks for letting me know about this great deal.

Could anyone please confirm this can be wall mounted?
#11
Exactly the same mate, PS3 playing GTA 4 looks awesome.
I had the same problems with the base but once fitted you wonder what all the fuss was about, and yes agree the glossy finish does show finger prints, thats the same with most of the Samsung range.

Could anyone please confirm this can be wall mounted?

No, its not got the standard VESA mount.
#12
possible cheaper to get at argos richer sounds price inc delivery is £189.94 ,i can collect locally from argos saving petrol and a 150 mile trip to richer sounds in belfast
#13
Voted hot even though you cannot seem to wall mount.
#14

Also the pebble is one of the nicest looking sets you will come across.
#15
good deal if you choose warranty
#16
ebuyer option is far better imho.

I have had this tv for 6 months and it's absolutely fantastic, I'd highly reccomend it.
#19
wonder if they are going to bring out the white ones at the same price..
#20
Hot. Want one for my bedroom gaming. Would order one but bills and that :(
#22

That's purely a monitor whereas this is a TV/Monitor with HDMI, SCART inputs etc as well as DVI.

Hi can anybody confirm if this is true or not?

i have a smasung 37" and it has a MATTE SCREEN which means that even with daylight/sunlight beaming into the room, you can still see the picture no matter what (you dont get that glare/mirror image like with most tv's)

does this model have similar features/technology?

in my eyes this is a must in every TV as it means you can view the picture anytime of the day and from any angle!!

i just bought a 50 inch plasma samsung and was supposed to have this feature, no complaints about telly itself except that this feature doesnt work which is very disapointing as the glare is quite noticable and distracting

Sold out in Glasgow but ordered one for collection a week on Wednesday. From reading customer commentson other sites (ebuyer and Amazon etc) this sounds like being the business for doubling up as a PC and console screen. Will let you know how good it is when I get it!

Great price also, cheers poster

Got today (as promised by RS) and it is absolutely fantastic.

Dead easy to set-up and install, and it has invigourated my PC/ 360 experience ten-folds. I'd highly recommend this monitor.

I have had this TV for a few weeks now and I can't believe how amazing the picture quality is. Grand Theft Auto IV through HDMI (Playstation 3) at 1080p (really it's a bit less but higher than 720p) and it looks incredible. The picture quality the TV can produce when maxed out really is breathtaking. 720p looks great too but with 1080p or 1080i the visuals I think look just that little bit better it seems and more detailed.

Has anyone got many games to work in 1080p yet? Not that many Playstation 3/XBOX 360 titles do though.

I haven't got any Blu-Ray DVD's yet but I have played a few 1080p trailers on my Playstation 3 and even in the compressed format the quality is stunning. Upscaled standard DVD's look better too, not that much improvement obviously but you can notice some enchancement in picture quality.

I was thinking about upgrading to a full 1080p TV but that can wait this TV really is amazing for the price and it can display graphics close to 1080p at least.
