Ok a reasonable sized external 2.5" drive for a reasonably cheap price. I could go on about the Michale Jackson film, but I suspect everyone will delete it immediately and its actually a reason they are offloading such drives.

Before you ask 2.5" means it will power up from the USB and will not need a separate power supply. Would be suitable for a media player etc. It's just £5-10 cheaper than other places.

Before you ask Samsing is a decent make and no worse than others imo. Evertone has soemthing bad to say about any make..

changed :)

i seen this before.
Still a good price, im very interested but need to see if it will work on my in-car dvd headunit

Hi TS - you should rename it from 'external' to 'portable'. External tends to describe the mains powered 3.5" drives, while portable usually means 2.5" USB powered. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

I agree with you, this is a portable drive

I have seen this countless times before. How long will they haunt us with the macabre leftovers of an event that could never take place?

Dennis Hopper laptops anyone?

you can also take the hard drive out of these and put them in a ps3 ..my mate did it a few weeks ago hes filled it with hd movies

I don't even want to know what people store on a Michael Jackson Hard Drive!
#7

A1...bought about a week ago...and fantastic. Not watched the movie yet.....
But great price for a USB powered portable HD

Was just about to get this from play for £54.99, might aswell save the £2 cheers OP. Im a big michael jackson fan so its a bonus having the design, ive got the film on blu ray aswell and i really enjoyed it, very good price.
#10
Thanks, ordered. Just what I was lookking for.
#11
If it was a normal 2.5" drive I would buy it but not with MJ carp on it I won't. Good price shame about the design on it.
#12
Was this price 3 weeks ago when I got mine, cheap but I'm sure there was a 640gb non-wacko version on here last week for not much more?

Is a nice drive though, its FAT32 formatted, so you may want to copy the movie off then reformat as NTFS (or do a convert if you can get that to work). FAt32 is ok for some things but has a 4gb single max file size limit, which was no good for me.
#13
Is it easy to remove the graphic/transfer ?
#14
damm itt!
but mine was only for CDs and i found one for 37.99 at tesco foe 250gb which was perfect for me :) and i got -£4 off it aswell :D

I for one LOVE Michael Jackson for the musical genius & great humanitarian he was.

I couldn't care less if 99.99% of the world disagreed with me. I am incredibly proud & grateful for being able to live during the same era as this great man.

At age 50, he had the fastest selling tickets in concert history for "This Is It". He sold a million tickets at £75+ a pop, so I know I am not alone in my views.

In his one short life, Michael Jackson did more for the world than most communities do over several generations.

My life is better because of Michael Jackson, for that reason alone; I will always be loyal to him & his children.

Bought one from CDiscount with the cash back I got from my Samsung NC10 netbook - so £60. I have used it a number of times but I recently tried to hook it to my netbook and the connection at the back is loose - it just goes into the drive so I cannot get it to work....looks like a design flaw! Not sure what to do because I recently backed up 5 PC's of data and gave all 5 PC's away when I moved house, keeping just my netbook .....now everything is on this drive!

Doesn't look like it can be opened up.

Got mine just over a week ago :) used the 10% off voucher that ebay sent me so was cheaper.

Moved film to main p.c. then formatted.

You might find it wont format when you try quick format to NTFS just do it again but not quick format takes it time but once done ok to do both then

Be careful - this is one of the Amazon reviews:

3.0 out of 5 stars WATCH OUT!

Any of you people wanting to buy a hard drive for your ps3 and think that this one is cheaper so you can rip it outta the case and pop it into your ps3, DONT BUY THIS! it's NOT a regular hard drive, it's a 1.8inch lif/zif hard drive. 40 pin lif to usb connector on it. You'd say that the drive was sort of made to be a usb drive or for some other purpose

Yeah, that's clearly not true because:

- Samsung sell 1.8" USB drives and they currently cost ~£70 for a 160GB version.
- Samsung 1.8" USB drives are branded 'S1' not 'S2'
- The dimensions given in the technical information are way too large for it to be a 1.8" drive.

Also there's two comments on that review pointing out that it's incorrect.

Duct tape. Or insulation tape. Wouldn't be that hard to cover up the design. It's good price for a 500Gb USB drive.

this is a really good hard drive, I paid a tad more than £52.99 and i will gladly buy another one.

i think this will be a collectors item in a few years.

Well said! MJ is a LEGEND no other artist comes close!.

Looks like the MJ police are out in force. You just know that anyone with an MJ avatar is going to push their blinkered opinions onto us all. Kinda like an unwanted Johova's witness at the door. I mean, CLEARLY to any normal, sane person, MJ was a very good singer and performer, but what about all the really freaky stuff that went on in that house. Being a good singer does not excuse him for all that.

Hitler was a pretty good painter, but I'm sure the Jews wouldn't of excused him for all his goings-on just because he could paint a mean bowl of fruit.

Oh, and if anyone with a MJ avatar wants to have a rant at me, I wouldn't waste your breath. It's highly unlikely that I will return to this thread, you see, I have a life outside of the internet.

He was good right up to 'Thriller', then it all went dreadfully wrong. Watching a performer grab his crotch and squeak is not what I call entertainment.

I'm going to buy one and the first thing I'm going to do is to delete tha crappy MJ film. :p:-D

There seems to be alot of MJ haters here, but lets move on to the bigger problem - the people who want to put the drive in a PS3. Rather than scouting around for decent price drives... invest in a decent console! :P

This is good value, I am tempted to get it as Im after a portable drive and this is the same price and includes a movie and a simple case.
