This is my first post so please be easy on me lol.
Was looking for a new 50" tv and as it seems all the dixons and curry's deals have shot up again in price I looked elsewhere and stumbled on this deal.
Hope it's helpful to anyone looking to treat themselves for the new year.

Can anyone help with the image? sorry!

I reacon all this kind of entertainment electrics will go up in price this year due to the weak pound as the warehouses supply runs dry & need to restock it will be coming in from overseas a weak pound means that it will take more of them to buy each & every new tv that comes into the uk so this means the price must go up! doesn't matter if you can't find the money for them as the shops will not do you a favour & give them away.

yes, a weak pound will drive prices up, but the fact no-one is buying 'luxury' items at the moment like TV's will keep the prices low, plus as we all know the prices of large screen have been dropping rapidly over the last 12 months due to a reducing cost of manufacture and this will only continue. I think prices will hit a low in the next few months and then plateau, I can't see them going up again.

that aside, this looks like a corking deal for a huge screen :)

I agree with the comments about the falling pound. I think some things will go up, however in a depressed market retailers will have to keep prices low, in order to have any chance of selling anything. One example is in denmark where tax on new cars is astronomical, so in order to sell cars at all, manufacturers have to sell the car at a very low price so that when tax is added it is still affordable. this is why when the £ was high, the best place to import from was denmark, as the ex tax price was the lowest (for imports you didn't pay the tax) so this might be what happens here, overseas manufactureres have to cut their margins for uk sales in order to retain a market share.

All of this is true and the fact that 200Hz TV's will be all the rage and the shops will need to shift the "older stock" Then we will have the "it's not 200Hz" mob replacing the "it's not 1080P" mob when people post deals. :whistling: Good spot for a nice telly Heat added.

too big for most people except charvers who have front rooms smaller than these actual telly's and who mount them about 8 foot up on their wall and cover them with tinsel

has anyone used Teleworld before?

John Lewis were selling this same tv for same price but with 5yr Guarantee, it didn't last long and was sold out very quickly.

Comet are doing it same price aswell: http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/448222/SAMSUNG-PS50A557S3FXXU

same TV just different model number (they do this so price matching is difficult)

I just called them and they seem ok, they have a store etc so how bad can they be? ;:whistling:

They have mixed feedback on the net like any company, if you are that concerned perhaps look at other retailers, or consider paying by credit card for additional security?
