Hi this is my first hot deal.

I think this is a good tv at a great price £386.99 down to £356.99 when discount code TVCRASH30 is used.
Also can use topcashback and quidco for a few quid back aswell.

My brother got one today and i
think they may sell-out fast at this price!

+ 1 as Comet customer service is poor.
#4
why would you WANT 5 years out of such a low spec TV?
#5
Much better deal @ JL with 5 yr guarantee
#6
yep. I went for the JL with 5 year guarantee cos it was for my folks and they need piece of mind.

Because if it breaks down within 5 years you can get it fixed maybe ?

Just think of how much this will be worth in 5 years.

I dont really get how this is low spec. If you have Sky+ and watch freeview, your watching standard definition.

This plasma at 720p will have far better quality than a 1080p LCD, due to the difference in technology.

its an entry level low spec tv. in 5 years time it'll be 2015.
dya reckon they'll fix it?
maybe in the next 1-2 years.
after that they MIGHT be able to replace it without costing themselves too much money for an upgrade.
in 4-5 years they'll give you partial refund cos there won't be anything nearing this spec of TV.

5 years on a TV is ridiculous.

i doubt you'll be able to watch a 2010-2012 set by that time.

plus its only a 4 yr warranty with JL. your first year is free and they dont offer anything above the normal service.
so its 4 years extended for free on the manufacturers 1 year.
no better level of service in the remaining 4 years than the first tho.

OK for free.

Maybe not 5 year guarantee required, but after 1 year and 1 day if it broke then my parents would twist on. So if you get a 5 year one for free then anything after 1 year is a bonus!

Agree with all the JL comments,a rock solid warranty and they replaced my faulty 4 year old TV with a brand new high spec model equivalent in price to what I paid 4 years ago....no messing around at all...far superior to currys, comet and all the rip off merchants

Cracking deal - I was looking at 42" TVs about a month ago and this was generally selling for £400-£450.

WONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no they dont.
the sale of goods act is not, never has been and never will be a warranty.

with a warranty (paid for or free) is there a good possibility you will need to go to small claims court?

Unfortunately, I've got to agree with others mate - this is relatively low spec. Granted, if you're watching SD telly from a simple Freeview/Sky+ box, it's fine, but a lot of people have already made the transition to 1080p digital sources such as Playstation 3 and blu ray players. This telly will output a NICE picture I'm sure, but many people want the full resolution their hardware can output ie. 1080p, which this Samsung will have to downscale.

If you push your budget 50 quid or so you could enjoy Full HD, and maybe even get a FreeviewHD/Freesat tuner built in!

they dont have a 5 year warranty, it just means that you have years in which to claim that the product had a manufacturing fault at the time of purchase at your cost

have read equally as many comments on the likes of AVforums from peoples saying they've got a few quid back from JL cos they couldnt fix or replace to equal spec, an old CRT.

good and bad I suppose.

agree about Currys (I do work for them!!!)

my Plasma LG pk590 isnt dull at all.
#26
Whats wrong with a 5 year warranty? After a few years they won't be able to get the parts so they should give you something like vouchers for a new telly, can't go wrong for that

same with mine (pk590).
dont like LED/LCD over bright screens. plasma is far more natural than the eyebusting brightness, charcoal grey instead of deep black and oversaturated primary colours.
its like watching everything on a PC monitor.....which it essentially is.

they won't cos they'll take into account the price of a 5 yr at Comet
#36
Nonsense. The warranty is standard al jl and in fact anyone worth buying from. Stop talking drivel and talk facts.

price match policy at JL has changed recently, they now take into account the delivery AND the price of the competitors 5 year service and what it covers before deciding whether to price match.
yes JL still give you 4 years extended (first year is free anyways) but as for matching Comet, they'll wanna know how much Comet charge for a 5 year and whether the service is comparable to their own.

go view the TVs forum at AVforums for more info on the price matches turned down by JL recently cos of this.

Sorry, but these ARE facts
#38
what the point in buying this?? get a 1080p for not much more!
