Voted hot.

Next cheapest I found this tv was £415 and you don't see many 42" tellys as low as this.
#6
Very good price

Anyone know what the length of warranty is for this TV and if Viking are any good with returns?
#7
Thanks for the votes, but sorry I fell into the VAT trap.

Anyone got a direct line to Cameron, see if we can momentarily get the VAT rate dropped
#8
Actually! That price Includes VAT it's £296.42 + VAT (£51.87)

So this is actually the Cheapest 42" HD ready PLASMA I have seen.

It was posted here a couple of weeks ago, I checked last Thursday and it was at £340 + vat.

Also, if you're a small business owner, as it's Viking Direct (Business Supplies retailer) you might even be able to get away with claiming the VAT back :whistling: ;-) so it'll cost you less than £300. AWESOME!

Don't forget 7% TCB (on price exl. VAT) or 10% @ Quidco!!!

Darnit, just finished wall mounting the 42" Panasonic I got from Dixons last week for my parents.
Could've saved myself £50 by waiting just a few days.:x

Gonna checkout Dixon's returns policy!

What you would rather have a Samsung rather than the superior Panasonic

Why expired now? Still showing in stock.
I bought 1 of these 2wks ago for the higher price of 400. Do u think I could order another and send it back with the old invoice and get a refund of the higher price? Does anyone know the returns policy or where I stand on returning an item. Who pays the shipping? Thanks for any advice!
#21
yeah this is still showing as in stock at the same price..
im thinking of ordering one as my girlfreind is moving out tomorrow and taking her 42" samsung with her!
Is this a decent picture for SKY HD? I would also use my Ps3 on this tv via HDMI would it be a decent picture?
I really dont understand all the ins and outs of 1080 and 720 etc etc

Their site is really strange.

yesterday on the business site they had this for something like £298, excluding VAT, but on the personal site it was listed at £409. That changed a bit later to £348, VAT inclusive. Now it's at £411? They were also adding things to the page through the day, like a banner that said they were celebrating England's 1966 WC victory by knocking an additional £44 off the price of selected TV's, of which this was one. Now, it's gone.

Strange.

What's stranger for me is that I ordered on at £399 Saturday night but contacted them yesterday once I saw the £348 price. They were having issues trying to verify my address, which I then needed to sort out and supplied them with everything they needed, but it wasn't going to be processed until today and they said that the price drop would be applied to my order. Sooooo... I wonder what happens now.

edit: Their credit control team just confirmed I'll be getting it for £348. Happy days =D

I have a 46" Freesat FullHD Panasonic Viera myself and love it to bits...

This new one was for my parents and I liked the idea of H.264 USB support. Would save me lugging my laptop when I stay over. Also, not too impressed with the build quality of this new Panasonic (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/696030/panasonic-viera-tx-p42c2b-399-97-fr). Feels alot flimsier than my own, including the crappy on/off button. But then again, mine was 2.5x more expensive.

I also saw a lot of obvious cost cutting measures when comparing my Panasonic to a friend's newer model.
Build quality has given way to features, just a consequence of falling prices I guess.

each item has a seriak number attached to box and tv so they would know you sent the wrong one back to them:oops:
