A plasma tv with great reviews has just gotten cheaper!!!

The TV will show up as £679.99 so to get the TV for £654.99, you need to add the code SAVE25 at checkout.

Found this when looking for a new tv for dad. Not 1080 resolution admittedly, but from what I've read from those in the know (eg those that either have it or have techy knowledge) the pic is fantastic and it makes negligble difference as few inputs require more than 720.

As a PS3 owner, I have a 1080 LCD but this product at this price has certainly made me look at plasma's in a whole new light (could it be the phosphorous..? - Sorry about the geeky pun!). Anyhoo, dad was pleased with the tv and price, having seen it in action in a shop, so I've ordered one.

Why the negative vote? This TV has great reviews and has had good feedback from HUKDers when posted at a higher price.

If you have a problem with the deal, perhaps validate it with a reason so others can make informed descisions, or if u don't have a valid point, maybe don't vote..? :whistling:

I voted hot for what its worth

Excellent set, had mine just over a week and loving it.

Maybe voted cold by the 1080 fan boys, personally I chose to pay a little more and go with John Lewis with the 5yr warranty.

You can't price match as Dixons add bits to the model numbers also.

Forgot to add, this was also posted on here last week, so that might be why the cold votes.

Can I ask you, what’s this like with a SD feed. Thanks.

I have this set and SD isn't amazing, I have to be honest. Probably a combo of the set being large and being more towards the low end.
HD however looks excellent!

John Lewis use the correct model number for it (dixons add bits to the ends so you can't price match) it is the PS50a457. t's here: http://www.johnlewis.com/230476264/Product.aspx

The price has gone up since last week by £40.

SD is fantastic, I don't have any HD equipment and thats why the 1080 isn't an issue for me. I've got Sky and an xbox 360 (which upscales to 720HD and is awesome)

Maybe the above poster got a duff set, but mines fantastic, it also depends on how far away your sat, it's a big screen so you need a big lounge to get the best from it. I ddi alot of research and went and viewed alot of different sets before purchasing, and this is definately excellent quality for the price.

Richer Sounds have one in their clearance at £669 in Leeds and Watford stores.

Many thanks for that:thumbsup: I think I will have to trawl the shops to see what’s being marked down in store. Then use mobile internet to check reviews on anything I like. The only problem with this is I don’t have mobile internet:?

You are right that I have a fairly small lounge for this size TV, was going to get a 42" but at £700 from JL I couldn't resist the extra size. From a bit further away the SD picture is probably great and I liked it quality before I got SkyHD. Now, however, there is no going back. Get skyHD hooked up to it, it's fantastic.

One thing to note about this TV is that it is a 100Hz set so great for motion like sports or news tickers. One good test is to put a 100Hz set and a 50Hz set both on something like Sky Sports News and see the news ticker.

My parents opted for the 42" model as they sit much closer then we do here, it does make a huge difference.

I just have to keep remembering to blink :w00t:
