I know NOTHING about large size Plasma and LCD screens, is "100Hz update rate" better as on an old tube TV, I have an old tube 100Hz 32" screen and the difference was very noticeable, am looking to update now, what is the best to buy Plasma ot LCD and should I look for 100Hz ?
Only have ordinary freeview, might upgrade to Satellite Freeview, not SKY (spit)

They are the EXACT same models, the 456 range is a Currys/Dixons exclusive with a black bezel whereas the 457 range is the general release model with a silver bezel. Apart from that the same screen. This set is the HD ready plasma, where as the 5 Series range is Full HD, and the 6 series range of plasmas are also Full HD with Touch of Color and is the newest plasma from Samsung at the mo, with 7 & 8 Series Plasma's due out later this year.

If you plan on upgrading and don't have any HD sources then go with Plasma as they give a far better Standard Def. Picture when compared to LCD. LG have just recently released a 32" Plasma Screen that has been getting very good feedback from all the owners - it looks mighty fine as well so if size is a problem take a look at that.
