The Samsung PS50B650 has been retailing around the £1400 mark. Curry's have taken £350 off it's price last week, and if you order online and use the 'get100' code, you can take another £100 off the price. Use TopCashback for another 4% - taking this What Hifi 5-Star rated plasma to nearly £900 - £500 less than the MRP.

The 'get100' code expires tomorrow though, so you'll have to be quick............

The blurb:

Film buffs will absolutely love the Samsung PS50B650S 50" 1080p Plasma TV, thanks to its 100 Hz refresh rate, which fluidly displays fast action scenes in crisp, blur-free detail.

Picture quality is not only limited to this technology, however. The 1920 x 1080 picture resolution means you can enjoy stunningly detailed movies, games and programmes, making it a TV must-have for the digital entertainment lover.

The Samsung PS50B650S 50" 1080p Plasma TV will display the whitest whites and inkiest blacks thanks to its 50,000:1 native contrast ratio, which is increased to 3,000,000:1 in dynamic mode. Your favourite programmes, films and games will never be lost in brightness or shadow again.

Great connectivity on your Samsung PS50B650S makes it easy to hook up a range of video and audio devices. Use the 4 HDMI connectors to hook up your HD sources such as HD camcorder, Blu-Ray player or game console.

You can even you this Samsung plasma as a giant PC monitor thanks to the PC connection. This is ideal for sharing PC stored content with friends on the big screen.

You also have the choice of streaming content over the Ethernet pot and storing it on the 1GB of flash memory.

A TV of this calibre needs audio to match and this is where SRS TruSurround XT comes in. You can also connect your Samsung PS50B650S 50" 1080p Plasma TV to your Home Theatre set-up thanks to the optical audio-out transmitter.

* 3,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast
* 100Hz
* Built-in digital TV tuner

* 4x HDMI, 1x SCART, 1x Component, 2 x PC
* SRS TruSurround XT
* Medi@ TV

Not a bad price for a 50" with 1080p. Shame Currys service can't be that good

I'd spend a little bit more and get the latest panasonic with freesat and The 600-Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1,080 lines of resolution

that was my original 1st choice, but it didn't get a great write up. The samsung is actually better specified and has a higher quality image:

If you need Freesat though it's probably worth it. I've got Sky so not too bothered
