There’s no excuse anymore for leaving all those great digital pictures and videos in your cameras. All you need with the Samsung HDTV is a USB connection cord. Just plug it in then instantly play. It even works for your music collection, so now anytime is showtime.

Plug-in your USB device and watch your videos or listen to your music
600Hz subfiled motion

Ever notice how with plasma screens, motions can get a little jerky? Unless you happen to be looking at one of Samsung's new plasma TVs. Every frame is seamlessly smooth because we put 10 full subfields into each frame. That's 600Hz. So contours are crisper, scrolling text sharper and the juddering issue is finally put to rest.
Every angle is right with Clear Image Panel

Amazing picture quality can’t exist with blurring on your screen. That’s why we developed Clear Image Panel for our new plasma TVs. It uses a film filter instead of conventional glass to eliminate layered images and produce ones that are ultra-clear and blur-free from almost every angle.

The advanced features of Samsung Plasma TVs produces stunning picture quality. Click here for a larger image
Mega Dynamic Contrast (PDP)

Getting a true cinematic experience used to mean going to the cinema. But with Mega Dynamic Contrast Ratio true cinematic clarity comes to plasmas. Every frame is saturated with dense, rich colour. Blacks have more depth and the whites are unbelievably pristine. The only thing missing is a large head blocking your view.

Response Time 0.0001ms

It's hard to beat the speed of light. That's how fast our plasma screens respond to each new image. 0.001 ms is all it takes for each pixel to re-generate clear, crisp, robust colors. That's why there's no blur or ghosting in the picture. And there's less strain on your eyes. You can't beat that.

Wide Colour Enhancer

Capturing nature is the goal of an artist. We've achieved it as well with our Wide Colour Enhancer. Our unique 3D colour stretching technology saturates each pixel until it achieves the true colour and luminescence intended by nature. So every colour on the RGB spectrum is brought to life. It is a work of art.

Eco Sensor measures the intensity of the room’s light and automatically calibrates the brightness of the screen
Light controlling, energy saving

Samsung HDTVs are easy on the planet — and on your eyes. Our unique Eco Sensor measures the intensity of the room’s light and automatically calibrates the brightness of the image on the screen. In a brightly lit environment, the picture brightness grows even brighter, and in dim surroundings, brightness is reduced. So now you’re not wasting energy on a bright screen when it isn’t needed. Enjoy the best picture possible with a TV that’s aware of its surroundings.
Planet First

Samsung is committed to provide consumers better green experiences through innovative technology, design and processes. So you can put your feet up and relax knowing you're leaving a smaller carbon footprint.

Why do people do that, make a statement, it may or may not be valid, but the alternative given has no price comparison whatsoever.

I have the 42" version, cracking picture viewing Blu Ray and Freesat HD source. Heat added....£480 for a quality 50" plasma, a couple of years ago you would have only dreamt of this kind of price!

It's £10 to get a 1080p LG Plasma, I think thats a better move.

Or £60 more for a 1080p Panasonic Plasma. It's not much more, its worth it.

Although I would settle for a 720p, its not much more...

At long last a sensible post on this board - some people seem to think that if something is cheap it must be good

What's a stolen cock? It's a long time since I've seen mine! Must get off the TV deals and onto the Wii Fit deals.

I seriously doubt that. Unless the content is trying to see your own reflection. This cheapo plasma (and it wasn't exactly top of the range when released) wouldn't be a patch on that Sony.

Why bother with a small Sony 42" when you can spend a little more and get an LG 60"... I bought one and it was worth it. But you have to have a big house as well horace like ive got lol....

yep and where can you buy a new large black & white TV.
snob.

not everyone wants or is interested in keeping up with technology.
if joe public wants to replace their CRT or even older plasma,LCD or rear projection TV cos its failed and beyond repair, this is a large screen for virtually no money.

personally its not for me and I can't stand Samsungs cheaper range of TVs.
I also cant stand Sony's over priced over hyped TVs too, especially as a lot of their panels are made by Samsung and Sharp...so not really a sony is it????

for anyone not into HD, this is fine.
though I'd spend ya money on an LG instead and get better sound.

but its not good enough for some people, who are just brand snobs.

I guess you've seen both models in the flesh to make that statment? There are some things even the best lcd's cant do compared to some of the "cheapo" plasma screens, input lag and black repoduction springs to mind (or crushing blacks in the case of the sony lol)

That will be because the Sony is £899 with trade in..........
