When you factor in the cost of 3d glasses and the fact this model is not full hd, I feel a better deal could be had elsewhere on a better model.

Your right. This TV is pretty bad, it gets pretty bad reviews on AVF

the way the prices are coming down for 3D tv's you would think the price for the glasses would come down as well
#5
thought i put 3d in title lol, now amended,

it is not the best 3DTV you can get but for the value you cannot go wrong

1080P surely takes major preference over 3D on a 50" plasma!

A poor TV is a poor TV - I wouldn't want to spunk £700 away on something that's low grade.
#11
Considering the C680 was £839 with two pairs of glasses (which are worth around the £140 difference), a 3D blu-ray player and the Shrek set, this is a pretty bad deal. Not sure why anyone would want a 50" screen when it's not capable of 1080p!!!

Avoid anything 3D as it's pointless. Just a gimmick that has already worn off.

Hot price..

No bloody way would I get a 50" without 1080p though.

kimichi tv :)
#19
Seen it this low a few times, it's an older panel & it's not 1080p, but if you can let those facts go then it is a reasonable price.

I paid 2 grand for this TV when it first came out and it's absolute gash. AVOID AVOID AVOID! It's picking up dust in the spare room...
#21
Yea most of you are wrong i OWN the PS50C680 and i "get" my 3d films from the net and all of them are in half sbs < does not use full hd never has yet when i try a full sbs my tv dont support it so really it dont matter its still hd might be 720P but thats better than no hd.

only 720p, and no 5 years warranty, so not bad for this price but not that hot. would say 90degrees. :{

Seriously DO NOT BUY A 3D TV NOW!

The new 3D TV's start to come out in a month, and they should be significantly better than these 1st generation sets. Even Samsung's first gen glasses aren't compatible with the new glasses (gone from Infra Red to Bluetooth - which they should of been in the first place), the first gen 3D TV's really are bleeding edge.

If your after one of these first gen 3d TV's March is the time to get one as they will be selling for very little just to get rid of them - that is assuming all the CES reports are correct.

I think better than the above is the deal fromcheapelectricals.co.uk are doing. You get the Samsung 3D PS50C680 (Full HD) @ £727.99.
#29
It has been suggested they cause headaches!!
#30
I would have a 3DTV even if it was gifted to me, yes that's right I would look the gift horse in the mouth and say no thanks.

Gimmick rubbish. I'm sure in 10 years it will be brill, until then no thanks.

Absolutely spot on.That's why the majority of 3d films that have been released have been poor horrors that have tried to sell their films off of the back of the 3D hype.Blockbuster films like Toy Story will still use it as it's a nice gimmick.

Have we not been down this 3D route on at least 3 occasions that I can remember and I'm only 38!!
Good for a 3d tv if you believe the hype though.

same price at tesco - note this tv is NOT full HD!

Buy the 40" sammy LE40c750. you wont be dissapointed.Picture quality is awesome. Apparently really bad, for image retention on this 50" plasma.
#35
I brought 2 of the full hd 1080p versions for £899 each and I'd say they are worth every penny. I'd avoid this one unless you need a New tv and don't want to buy another if this gimmic does kick off. You can play the sbs stuff direct from a usb hdd or stick. Hdd is better as avatar is 11gig. Sure you don't watch 3d all the time but its great to see some things in 3d at least once.
#36
Im on the lookout for a 42" or above Telly with at least 3 hdmi ports on it. Any recommends?

Great deal, I just ordered this. If you use the code 5300 you'll get a further 5% off saving you £35 more.

Lol, when was this tv ever 2 grand, AVforums posts seem to indicate this is a new budget model recently brought out.

3D and not 1080p. Avoid.

I have tried half SBS files downloaded form the net. I don't have 3D, I got them just to test if my media player could play them and it could without any problems. I used the Hisense MP800H player.
