Ah - £59.99 each from Best Buy, Less around £9 for 15% Quidco makes around £50 each I guess.
#15
1 in the box though
#16
Anyone buying one the HDMI cables they offer as an accessory? Steal at £99 bet they make the picture even better
#17
Whats the guarantee period with these?
#18
Should definitely come with a pair in the box.

This set isn't great, although ok for a budget set. If you read through the various threads on AV Forums some of the faults are shocking. Watch out for image retention as it's really bad on this model.

One of the faults was the sync with the tv and glasses, the "fix" is to stick black tape on the receiver sensor on the glasses, not bad eh lol.
#19
do you def get one set of glasses?
#20
Can you get a price adjustment?

Hi, Simate must have confused the models as I am watching the C680 now and the picture quality on standard, HD and 3D is very good. As for AVFORUMS there are many many more positive reviews from C680 users than negative. It is not 'really bad for IR'. Samsung and LG plasmas tend to suffer from IR more than e.g. Panasonic but the Panasonic has it's own issues with rising black levels. If the TV is run in with some care (as you should do with plasmas - see AVFORUMS advice) your should be pleased with your purchase. I know that I am and I own one (does simate?). As for the sync on the glasses. Someone did report that in among the hundreds of posts on this model. It is possible to get a faulty set of glasses with any 3D set.
PS Samsung have been giving an additional free set of 3D glasses, while stocks last, if you apply online giving your serial number. I received and I now have 4 pairs of 3D glasses.

I've been hearing this a lot lately. So, a 99p HDMI cable will work just as good as a £200 one, when connected between a 3d bluray player and say, this tv?
#27
I am unclear about the cashback, can someone confirm it is across their whole range or just the grand opening offers? Reading carefully on quidco it seems just for the latter. Be glad if someone can confirm otherwise as dying to snap a DSLR.
#28
Well it tracked at 15 % for a hard drive thats not in the opening offer
#29
in the USA these people are crazy!

3 years ago i was there and there was a dvd player for $1 per person retails at $35

I have not confused the models at all Mr Sarcastic!!!!!! I read every word about this set as I was going to get one the last time Comet & Currys were doing a deal on it. However, after reading comment after comment and page after page on the AV Forums owners thread I was put off by it's numerous flaws.

Yes I know about running plasmas in, I have had a Panasonic and ran it in for the first 200 hours bla, bla, bla. I am no noob when it comes to these things thank you very much. Why doubt what I said when the info is on AVF for all to read!?!

You may well be happy with your set but that doesn't make it any good does it. I did say it's ok for a budget set which is exactly what this model is.

I forgot, no I do not own one and never will, I don't buy cheap tat when it comes to things like this. Reading comments from honest owners is plenty enough for me not to buy one. The sync problem with the glasses is not down to "faulty glasses" as you put it. Some users have tried all 4 pairs (including the free pair from Samsung) and all had bad sync, what are the chances of 4 faulty pairs, 3 from one source and 1 from another?....zero I'd say.

For this price you should not exspect quality anyway, maybe on a 2K or 3K screen.

I'm sure it will provide adequate quality for us non AV tarts.

Word of caution with this TV.

My samsung 3D PS50C680G5KXXU has died after 6 months - sound, no picture, responds to remote, meaning the Y-SUS or Z-sus boards have blown.

Dixons has asked to talk to Samsung, and Samsung to Dixons - Would obviously get repaired until 1 year is over.

£1,000 3D TV for 1 year, with no hope after- AVOID, and buy a Sony or Panasonic - Most importantly, buy with extended warranty!!!
