3DTV, 50 inch plasma screen, 600Hz motion and Internet TV; if you're looking for all these features then check out the Samsung PS50c680, as it's got the lot!

With an improved viewing angle and Clear Image panel technology, quality 3DTV has never been more accessible. As ever, Samsung innovation makes it possible to convert your favourite 2D movies to 3D. More depth, more scale and truer image colour; the PS50C680 makes watching TV an experience of rich sensations. Of course, the PS50C680 offers an awful lot more than just Hyper Real 3D processing to make it such a compelling TV. Plasma gives you a super fast response and fluid image that even the best LCD and LED TVs struggle to match. Also standard is 600Hz Plasma Plus. This gives super-smooth motion with clear images, even during the fastest moving of sports events or action films. Whether you're watching in 3D or 2D, the PS50C680 has class-leading depth of image with inky dark blacks and brilliant colour reproduction.

Living up to such an awesome visual experience was never going to be easy for the onboard audio system and so it proves it can't match the encapsulating picture. More than ever for a TV like this, you really need to get a 3D Ready AV system to match. That said, considering this is one slim plasma, the built-in speaker system does a good job. There's also a reasonably powerful amplifier built-in and SRS TheatreSound for a more spacious and enveloping experience.

As impressive as the picture is on this 50 inch 3D Samsung TV, it's good to see that they haven't left it at that. In terms of connectivity the PS50c680 is, again, ahead of the competition. Full DLNA connection lets you connect up to your home hub from which you can access the Internet and share music, video and photo files from PC, laptop or NAS (Network Attached Storage) system. Wireless connectivity is available via an optional dongle. Added to this is [email protected] This app based system lets you catch up with online services such as YouTube, Facebook and the BBC iPlayer, amongst others. The more traditional connections are well covered by the Samsung 3D TV, too. Twin USB connections let you play your digital pictures and videos from media device through TV. Then of course there're the 4 HDMI sockets for full connectivity with your home cinema system.

When you've invested in such a high quality TV you want it to look the part and that's exactly what the PS50C680 does. Sporting the distinctive Samsung gloss black with red accents style and smart stand, the PS50c680 looks the classy plasma TV it is.

For a 50 inch 3D plasma TV you won't find better value than this.

In the title, how can it simultaneously have a guarantee, and not have a guarantee?

Yeh right, look on whathifi forum and avforum, tons of people returning them due to motion issues and other problems, well the new 2010 models anyway.

Well lots of Panasonic owners would disagree with you on that one ... they have their own set of problems over the last couple of years it seems.;)

Can you post a link of these problems please?
I have some pixeling problems with my plasma panasonic and need some advice, but can't find these threads.

Well just add the 5 year warranty then - still be way cheaper than Panasonic and won't look like it was made for some 70's 3d film buff.;)

The non-guarantee price was cheaper on Amazon yesterday (now expired) and that came with a free blu ray player. So I am not voting either way. I think there will be a better deal than this along soon.

I own the same set up and love it but don't believe the spec - half of it is wrong and Samsung [email protected] is utter rubbish compared to Sonys version which I also have. I hope the updates for the blu-ray sort the internet side out soon but going by forum remarks I could be waiting a long time as Samsung don't seem to care very much. It's been going on for almost a year already on various models.
Like I said though I love this setup aside from this.
