Completely wrong. Plasma don't suck for gaming, they are excellent, but you do need to take a little care when the TV is new and burning in. Plasma TVs have great colour contrast and no screen blur with fast action.
Any after image caused when new (first 100 hours) can easily be removed through the TV own screen protection options like "All White".

I've had my Samsung 52" 97HDX plasma for 8 months and there is no perminant after images, its screen is perfect.

John Lewis with 5 year warranty is far & away the best deal. I wouldnt dream of buying a plasma of this size and expense without one.

I think he may of meant to say LCDs suck for gaming. Although they're not that bad, Plasmas are the better option of the two. Better contrast and deaper colours (especially black)! Also moving images are better on Plasma, so anything like TV/Film etc is 'better', but this is more noticible in gaming, especially when you need a good reaction time!

Good TV, if JL are doing it for the same price though, go with them!

EDIT: Not instock online, but local stores might have stock if you call up. Most places seem to be selling at the £899 price point, including PC World, Comet, Dixons, Currys

Only thing that annoys me about the Samsung plus many other plasmas is of the two scarts only one is RGB. Panasonic tend to have two RGB scarts. S-video is ok but not as good. I think the same is true of LG/Philips and a few others they tend to only support RGB on one scart where as Panasonic deluxe models with 3 scarts have 2 RGB and even the more basic sets with only 2 scarts are still both RGB.
