You may also want to look at this post (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/135734/hitachi-50-1080p-hd-plasma-idtv-p50/)

Hitachi 50" plasma at £764 Debenhams

It's 1080P which the Samsung isn't, although there seems some doubt about it's resolution. Worth comparing the two though.

This is a very good set, it is better than the Hitachi on the other thread.
But there is a good reason why it is 100 pounds cheaper than anywhere else... £99 delivery!

Great TV according to What Hi Fi. This TV is 720p, not 1080p like the Hitachi, but resolution is not everything when it comes to picture quality. Also consider screen size and viewing distance.

PC World are doing a LG 50" Plasma HDTV (720p) for just over £600 with 5% voucher & quidco 2.5% (originally £650) - but they haven't got many left, so depends where you live.

Thus the reason why I didn't post it on the main thread - hopefully they will come back in stock soon :D

also the debenhams code that reduced it to £700 or whatever has been blocked so more like £1k now

Not that good a deal, when you add in the £100 delivery its no cheaper than the dixons version Q96 which is 899 minus £25 using code pr25. Also i just clicked on the xomy link and it had gone up anyway, anyone else get that?
Knowledge1973#16
If anyone is after a 50" the Samsung c96 is only £809 at Beyond television delivered. This is normally about the £899 price so is a good alternative. Spec wise its the same TV as the Q97 apart from slight cosmetic difference, one less HDMI Socket and doesnt have an ultra bright filter (which some people state cause banding issues)
