Had the monthly CostCo deal book pop through the letterbox today and noticed this. Last time I saw it, it was £1599.99 so, this quite a bargain. Even more so when you consider the quality, features and sheer size of this panel.

Unfortunately, there are no 'proper' reviews of it yet and it doesn't even feature on Samsung UK's website. However, from past experience with Samsung TV's and reading owner reviews, this is definitely a winner.
From looking at the TV on other retailer sites, it comes with 2 pairs of 3D specs which, I guess is pretty standard these days.

Here's a list of features and connectivity:

Full HD 3D 1920 x 1080p Plasma
Freeview HD Tuner
Ultra Slim
Smart TV Televisions
Smart Hub
Allshare (DLNA)
ConnectShare Movie
One Foot Connection
Digital Noise Filter
3D Converter
3D Sound
Anynet+
BD Wise
Picture-in-picture
Wireless LAN Built-in
PRV and Timeshift Ready
3D HyperReal Engine
Real Black Filter
Clear Image Panel
Anti Reflection
600hz Subfield Motion
Mega DCR
Natural True Colour
Dolby Digital Plus / Dolby Pulse
SRS TheaterSound HD
Brushed Black front

4 x HDMI
2 x USB
Scart
Headphone
Ethernet (LAN)
DVI Audio In (Mini Jack)
Digital Audio Out (Optical)
Composite In (AV)
Component In (Y/Pb/Pr)
PC Audio In (Mini Jack)
PC In (D-sub)
RF In (Terrestrial/Cable input)
RF In (Satellite input)

It also has 10 point white balance adjustment, 10 point gamma adjustment and full 3D CMS for those that want to make the most of it.

I believe there's even an iPhone/ iPod Touch/ iPad app, to turn you iDevice into a remote for it.

I'd buy one myself but, heaven forbid, it's too big for my new house. However, I am attempting to talk my dad into buying one.

A real bargain.

Thank you youngsyp for taking the time to post this deal. I have amended the title to include the price of the item and also the retailer as it makes it easier for people to see.

What other models are you comparing it too? Unless it's a Panasonic GT30 or better, there is no comparison. And it you look at the costs of those panels, this is very well priced.

As for it dropping to £699 by Christmas, if it does, I'll eat my right arm!

Dude, you're gonna have to wait a few years for decent 3D TV's that don't require shutter glasses, let alone no glasses at all. This tech is only in it's second generation after all...

Regardless, the 2D performance of this panel will be reference level, that's what I'd buy it for.

Just go along to the store, there is a list of jobs and companies that qualify but I've never seen anyone turned away.
Membership is about £27 per annum with an extra card free.

Also I can't see were the OP's mention this comes with a 5 year guarantee.

I believe it's £30 for a years membership as a private member and that does include an extra card. You can then add additional cards for about £13.

That info's in the title of the thread.

From what I've read, they're very good with warranty claims too.

That's an awesome price, assuming that's including vat?

Gonna have to measure the boot of the car, not such a bargain if I have to buy a bigger car to get it home lol.

Also I'd assume that it doesn't come with any glasses unless Costco say it comes with 2 pairs. It doesn't come with any as standard.

Thanks for posting.

Yes, that price does include VAT. It costs £1099.99 exc VAT.

The offer doesn't start until 13th June so, I'll pop up there on Saturday to confirm whether it includes specs or not. If it doesn't, it's a bit tight!

It's a great price either way to be honest.

I missed out on the electrical experience/john lewis price match deal at £1399 and that was without any glasses. The best I can see at the moment with the glasses is Robert Whyte with 2 pairs for £1499.

Looks to be an amazing TV going by the posts at AVForums.

Tesco Direct have 2 pairs for £100, which is cheaper than Robert Whyte if you collect them from a store or have them delivered.

Picked this up this afternoon and it scanned through at 1249.98. Absolute bargain.

You need a huge car to get it home tho, had to take it out of the box to fit it in a people carrier!

Go for it, it'll give you a reason to get excited about coming home!!! ;)

No glasses unfortunately, I'm about to have a look on ebay to see if there's any cheap ones otherwise I'll be picking a couple of pairs up from Comet at £49.99 each and will still have got the TV + 2 glasses for £1349.98!

Hi sorry only just saw this. The TV is amazing, really happy with it, only just got 3d up and running and that looks great to.

Highly recommend the TV and great price.

There's loads of info on this thread at avforums http://www.avforums.com/forums/plasma-tvs/1447335-samsung-ps59d6900-owners-thread.html

Thanks for this. Do you have Sky 3D by the way? And presumably some kind of subscription to an HD TV service?

I've got virgin HD. Haven't seen any 3D available on any of the channels yet but the Wimbledon finals are going to be in 3D apparently.

Also got a HTPC connected with a blu ray drive and that plays 3D blu rays perfectly.

Plus there's some 3D stuff available through the apps built into the TV.

I look forward to hearing what the Wimbledon finals were like in 3D. Last summer I saw the football World Cup final in 3D at the Empire Leicester Square cinema and it was amazing! I think that 3D is particularly good for sport events.

May I know a bit more about the 3D apps built into the TV? (but please ignore this if you're fed up of all the questions!)

I haven't used them that much but you've got Youtube, Iplayer, Lovefilm etc, one for watching music videos that's pretty good and an explore 3d app with free 3d documentaries to show off to people lol.

There's loads more stuff on there I haven't bothered to look at.

Thanks mate, I appreciate your replies. Now to decide what TV I'm gonna buy - hopefully with 3D 8) - we still have a CRT as our main TV! Cheers! :D
