Would love to know if you could run Windows Mobile 6 on this and TomTom
#3
You can run XP and Autoroute on this one :) Much cheaper than TomTom.

But I don't get the idea of why to buy such PC gadget, TBH.
#4
Autoroute is awful, truly truly awful with zero roundabouts!!! and shows you what American based software for European mapping is like. Yet to see anything match accuracy of TomTom maps.
#5
I used both TomTom (on MDA Vario) and Autoroute 2007 (on laptop) during my European trips and I prefer Autorote to TomTom.
#6
For Europe I cannot testify, for UK Autoroute is frankly a car hazard and shouldn't be used.
#7
I don't need either in the UK as I've got Blaupunkt TravelPilot in-dash satnav :) So can't tell much about UK experience with either TT or AR.
#8
Anyone know how good these are? Just made an impulse purchase... :-P
#9
Ordered one aroud 9pm

Can't wait..........................................

Does the keyboard come with it..........

Or is it an expenisive optional extra?
#10
basicly its a tiny laptop with a stylus (pen).

It runs full windows XP tablet edition.

Basicly a cross between a laptop and a smart phone

Cracking idea and relatively well implemented, but the battery life is a let down and you'll probably need external usb drives to get anything CD shaped onto it

And I've got a map!:):whistling:

I've got it too :) But sometimes it is quite difficult to drive, talk on mobile, eat, shave and read map at the same time. :-D
#14
great offer in terms of market price but wont be purchasing this due to reviews saying battery life is very poor.

thanks anyway Emma ! :)

Sorry to hijack the thread: rizla01, Cyrus - are you related? :)

Hey looks great just been on holiday in London and spent a fortune on internet cafes. Can anyone point me to a site which explains wi-fi though because it seems to be available everywhere - how do you use it, how do you pay for it etc?
Seriously considering something like this for holidays to keep in touch with my e-mail.
#17
i have personally used this

video playback and quality of screen etc is fantastic

surfing web is a pain in the ass, screens too small so ur constantly scrolling
if ur gonna use it with the keyboard wouldnt a laptop be a better buy?

its also slow (900mhz)
and battery life is abysmal

Just yesterday the Replacement Q2 from samsung was announced.

http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/07/samsung-q2-umpc-revealed/

Better screen, better processor, better comms gear. If you really really must have a UMPC then I would wait.

Quite agree with you on that statment:thumbsup:

I was close to buying one of these when they first came out as I fancied something compact for travelling, internet/email with and for watching movies etc.

For the money at the time it was over half of an ultra portable laptop which a much better spec though which put me off. I saw this tonight again and thought I could still use this, but it is still £500 which again is half a decent laptop.

Certainly the best price I've seen for this though.

I remember seeing this instore and I'm pretty sure it came with the keyboard, so there's a chance it'll come with it.

This is such a great looking little PC, & for that price

it includes a free 2 year guarantee.

Shame they're out of stock.

I was going to buy one of them & sell my sony TR2MP lappy.

Originally i was looking at http://www.inkino.co.uk/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=1397

As the UBiQUiO 701 has a bit better spec? The UBiQUiO only £545.45
