Good price. Good spec. Good form-factor. Voted hot! Wish I had the money to get one.
#2
Strange not to have packaging, but it doesn't really matter at this price. I paid nearly double this just six months ago, and mine has only 3GB RAM and a smaller HDD!

no box because its a refurb
#4
only 3 gb of ram not 4
#5
your spec is different to one on ebay , only 320 hard drive not 500
#6
Do they say anything about the battery time?
#7
yep 6 tp 7hrs not bad almost a whole day.
#8
OP: The ad states 3Gb RAM and a 320Gb HDD. Why are the specs you've listed higher? :s
#9
good price for a very good laptop. Voted hot.

3 months Warranty is really poor.....last samsung i had was repaired 4 times in one year.
#13
Seems pretty good for the price.

Warranty would worry me and I don't think the battery life would be anywhere near 6hours with a 6-cell and i3 tbh.
#14
Just been lookin at these. Bargain - just hope it arrives in decent condition - not bothered about the box and not even bothered if it's 3Gb and thre smaller HD. Heat added. Thanks
#15
As above, the 3 month warranty would seriously put me off. You could be throwing your money away.

i ordered this hp today. is it worth an extra £45? the HP is new with 12m warranty

i ordered it today for £345, (new) but could still cancel it...
#17
im guessing because of the i3 this smashes the asus ul30 out of the water?
#18
Never mind the price I wish this had dedicated graphics so I could buy the damn thing!!!!!

Want to buy the Q430 - but I dont think its worth an extra £90! For dedicated graphics but no gigabit or esata
#19
Good deal, but slightly worrying that they have more than 10 available of these laptops... then again, I don't know the quantities sold to begin with.

Processing power yes, but battery life no.

UL30 is lighter due to the lack of an optical drive as well. And since it uses the CULV (ultra low voltage) cpu, it will run cooler and in theory quieter. So you need to make a compromise on either wanting processing power or better battery/weight.

Thought they were the same as the one posted here, before so just copied & pasted them. Corrected now.

I might post a link to the lappy Sainsburys has in the local store. £300 gets you an emachines core i3 boxed, new, 2Gb, Win 7... 320Gb hdd as I recall.
#23
damm I bought this for 470 a few months back : (
I got the 370m model but damm, I wish I waited, Ive hardly used it for its intended pupose either (on the train travelling to college)

I've been weighing up the same question for days but decided to go for this. Think I'll swap out the ram (for 8GB) and HD (for 7200rpm) and it'll come in around the same.

good price for a very good laptop. Voted hot.

I am not convinced. It looks terrible (is the case as cheap as it looks?), has no gigabit ethernet, and it is not clear whether it comes with Windows 7 64 bit (btw, it mentions only 3 GB memory in the description).

So yes it is cheap, but you may get what you paid for.

I brought the 4gb and 500gig version from Saveonlaptops...I would say this is a great laptop...These laptop comes with either 6 cell or 4 cell battery...Laptop is really good...I changed nearly 12 laptops in last 3 years and I think this is the best purchase I ever made @ £399...Battery lasts about 6 hours if I am just reading a pdf file...
#28
Not listed on Sainsbury.co.uk although saw in store tonight.
#29
there is always one....No it looks great...Comes with 64 bit OS. and yeah 3gb memory is good enough for doing day to day tasks...I hope you are not expecting a gaming machine for £299...

All this 3 month stuff is **** and utterly meaningless they cannot affect your statutory rights if you bought it and it broke after 6 months they would not have a leg to stand on to refuse to repair/replace you could easily take em to the cleaners over it if necessary

Well Samsung is better manufacturer from Emachines...I will not touch emachines laptop even with a poo stick....

Where does it say it comes with 64bit W7? Reviews of the same laptop say it comes with 32bit..
#33
Only thing I would say no for this laptop is 3 months warranty....If you are not bothered about warranty just buy it...this is a great machine...
#34
I own one and it comes with 64 bit...If it doesn't just install windows 7 64 bit and activate with the 32 bit key...it works....:3

In fact it'll come out cheaper because the ones being replaced can go on ebay. Ok it'll invalidate the warranty but who cares. :)

So is this actual PC World / Currys, or is it some dodgy seller with the same name? Since it seems to be a good 200 quid cheaper than the thing would sell for in a PC World or Currys.

And who do you deal with if it breaks after the 3 mths, samsung?
#40
No it's actual Pc world...This is their ebay outlet...I think it's Samsung....
