1. It's an Acer, whch lots of people don't like due to poor build qaulity
2: It's only 11.6" which is not an issue to me, but most people find 13.3 to be the sweetspot in portability/useable size.
#6
£400 is a cracking price for this kinda laptop. I wish i got it instead of HP dm3 1020 which is a real looker but the processor is SLOW AS HELL. (then again i3 only became mainstream half a year after i bought the HP)
#7
yeah the 1810tz is pretty good but i think the 13.3" size is perfect

i like the macbook style keyboard on this!

oh and im surprised by the batt life, 7 hours with a proper i3 (not the low voltage one) and a disk drive, pretty good!

Agree with 2 but not 1, many people will vouch for acer.

If this had a dedicated + decent graphics card it would be perfect and I would expect that at such a price.

damm I bought this for £470 a few weeks ago. I checked on here and looked everywhere before buying. 1st I bought a refurbished one from ebay that turned out to be faulty for £380 returned it and bought a new one for £470.

Good laptop so far, used it on the train going to college to get some work done on my long journey

hmm another great 13incher :)

Good deal, wish it had some kinda graphics though.

I think I prefer my Acer 3810TG. It has fantastic build quality and switchable graphics, even if it lacks the power of the i3 I have the Su9400 clocked to 1.8GHZ and the battery lasts 8-9 Hrs.

I don't think you'll be doing anything on this that a Su9400 couldn't cope with!

Writing from this laptop as we speak, pretty great for the price.

Great price and heat added

What does the voucher code get you? Is it a specific £80 off code for this laptop or something like 20% off any laptop? Wondering if I can use it on anything else on the website...
#21
I have this laptop! It is really quite brilliant!

Everybody on here needs to stop saying about laptops with integrated graphics are no good. That may of been the case but not with i3 technology.

I can play half life 2 on my 1080p 22" monitor at full res prefectly with this lapop! It is amazing!!!

Can you give me one example of a ultra-portable (sub 2kg laptop) with a i3/4gb/500gb/DVD for 399 GBP with anything else than integrated intel graphics card?

There aren't any, that's why I posted this deal. Infact not sure there are any others the same spec as this for £399, even from the budget brands.

Seems like a good deal - very tempted

Very Hot.

Strange that i3-350M+4GB seems to be an anomalous configuration; most retailers are selling either i3-370M+4GB, or i3-350M+3GB.

I believe DSG group used to to sell this spec model until very recently too (maybe where saveonlaptops got stock from)

I just added to the title that this voucher and deal are only valid for this weeken, in case anyone is trying to decide.

I have had this laptop since October for study use. All I can say is that it is very good! I would recommend this laptop to anyone (though, it does depend what the purpose of the laptop is). When looking for a laptop, I was looking for one that would have the latest-ish tech (i.e. i3 processor) and would also be lightweight (ideally <2kg) and have a comfortable/easy to use keyboard. This laptop fitted the bill for my requirements.

Regarding the battery life, I do believe the stated 7 hours is a bit too optimistic, though I am hoping another owner will correct me as I may have different settings.

Heat added. Very tempted by this. I've been looking for a decent spec'd <14" laptop for a couple of months now. The only thing that is holding me back is that this Q330 only has Win 7 HP 32-bit:(

As I understand it you can use a windows 7 home premium product key to install either 32 or 64 bit, it doesn't cost anything.

To install a 64-bit version of Windows 7 on a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows

To do this, you'll need to start, or boot, your computer using the Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive.

1.

Turn on your computer so that Windows starts normally, insert the Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive, and then shut down your computer.
2.

Restart your computer.
3.

Press any key when prompted, and then follow the instructions that appear.
4.

On the Install Windows page, enter your language and other preferences, and then click Next.

If the Install Windows page doesn't appear, and you're not asked to press any key, you might need to change some system settings. To learn how to do this, see Start your computer from a Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive.
5.

On the Please read the license terms page, if you accept the license terms, click I accept the license terms, and then click Next.
6.

On the Which type of installation do you want? page, click Custom.
7.

On the Where do you want to install Windows? page, choose the partition containing your previous version of Windows (this is often the computer's C: drive), and then click Next.
8.

In the Windows.old dialog box, click OK.
9.

Follow the instructions to finish installing Windows 7, which include naming your computer and setting up an initial user account.

I'm not sure about this. You can certainly do that with a retail version of Win 7 but not with OEM. I don't know how to classify this one.

On a side note - does this 'WOW-1' code still works as it seems to be now missing from the description of the item.
