I assume you say 'gaming' rather loosely.

It will struggle (badly) with today's games

I'm sure it can handle Doom! Yeah I said gaming as it was listed on their site under 'gaming laptops for under £500'. Personally I don't want it for gaming, just web, office and video editing. Thought the spec looked good for that?

Outstanding value - in tests the graphics card can run L4D1 on high at over 40fps if you turn AA and AF off and it will run just about anything if you set the graphics to minimum. This isn't for a serious gamer, who won't be happy to run games on min settings, but for £329.98 it is probably the cheapest laptop you can get that will run most of these games at a playable framerate at all. Hot!

You can probably play PES2011 and FIFA11 on this one.
HOT

I personally don't think the output of the AMD processors is no where enough close to INTEL's efficiently.

Great price - This is virtually netbook money.

As long as your realistic with the in-game image quality settings, there's nothing you couldn't play on this.

Is this worth buying instead of a similar spec laptop with a intel I3 processor? Just returned an HP laptop as it was awful and looking to get something in this price range ? Also anyone know if Samsung do a trade in ?

What HP laptop was that? What model is it?

Amazing deal, and good build quality too. Only thing that lets it down is battery life.
#11
Definitely won't set the world alight while gaming with that spec (low-end graphics and CPU), but like others have said, at this price you wouldn't get anything even remotely comparable so it's a good deal.

It was a HP Pavilion dv6-3112sa which would have been a great buy with quidco and 10% off code especially as I was trading in a old laptop for the £150 deal.

BUT the screen was awful and washed out, the trackpad felt loose and was too noisy, generally the laptop felt very cheap and poorly made compared to my 4 year old Toshiba..... Sent it back after one day and got a refund!!!

This could a possible then as it will never leave the house and the most gaming it will see is Footy manager 2011.....

Shame its not a 17 inch screen though !! :p

Don't be so quick to judge

The M340 is a fine processor.

Great laptop for a good price, Lots of power hungry things in there so I imagine battery life will take a hit as is the case with any 'Gaming' orientated laptop!

Great value, voted hot, but have to disagree about your 'serious gamer' comment - serious gamers run everything at min settings, it's all about frame-rate.

Just still unsure about the processor as I had a I3 in my thoughts !!! ???

A Core i3 will decimate this processor, even a moderate Core 2 will be more powerful. That's not to say the AMD is all that bad, it's just not up there with current generation Intel offerings.

check out some of their customer reviews, the 1 star kind, personally I ordered a Laptop from them on Friday and payed extra for delivery on Saturday and guess what after spending all day waiting, no couriers delivering my laptop today :(
Also after checking my account with them today online I appeared to have my computer scanned, which looks to be done by a Lizamoon attack, not sure if that was from them or something on my machine though.....

Some advice please. How does this Toshiba compare. I'm after something for surfing, email, Spotify, iPlayer etc (ie no gaming or other processor heavy tasks).

Thanks in advance!
