Great deal, especially if you look at 3 years warranty!

The white and red ones are available too for £448.....

This has been done before but not for the red laptop so good find again. Do you know if the free 3 year warranty is still on as i cannot find it on the site.

PS. red out of stock most popular colour i expect,

I very nearly bought this until I found out the actual laptop only has a 1 year warranty, the 3 year warranty is against the hard disk!

Felt scammed and I'm rating this cold.

Saw these in store yesterday and the boxes show 3 Year Warranty printed on it. Dabs have the same model for about £370 but out of stock.

Tesco also have a Sony Vaio for £448 with pretty similar specs but without the 3 year warranty. Seemed a good price for a Vaio.

PCPRO review of the vostro
But the compromises turn up sooner rather than later. A laptop's looks shouldn't have much bearing on its success or failure, but first impressions matter in the real-world: just compare the difference between the Vostro 1500 and the Dell Latitude D430. The Vostro will never be mistaken for anything but a budget laptop. Open it and acres of anonymous black plastic stare back, and while Dell has at least imbued it with some curvy edges, once it's open in front of you it just looks slightly plump. Its weight, 3.1kg, is only just tolerable.

I think the vostro is ugly this on the other hand is not so it all comes down to your needs.

I too saw it on the box in tesco but let's face it, how often do you get 3years warranty at that price?
hence the reason I checked with samsung and yes, it is one year warranty for the laptop and 3 years for the hard disk.
They used to offer a 2year warranty but they have scrapped that now apparently?

Here is the link to samsung warranty info

http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/warrantyinformation/warrantyInformation.do?group=itbusiness&type=notebookcomputers&subtype=rseries&model_nm=NP-R60PLUS&prd_ia_cd=05010400&disp_nm=NP-R60PLUS&mType=&dType=D&vType=R#your

I could be totally wrong but this is the info Samsung gave me, and they are the ones who give the warranty right?

I also looked at the Vaio and it was a hard choice, of the two I'd of had the Vaio, but instead of either I went and bought the Dell Vostro 1700 that MikeT listed about a week ago, specced to pretty much my exact requirements it came out at £421, just a shame about the 12th feb expected delivery date!!

better than the dell IMO - samsung! Read up on them!
#10
it won't go wrong so f the warranty... most of you don't choose a long one with the dells do you, money savers, lol

I have got one of these from tesco's
1st year is with Tesco
2nd & 3rd year is with samsung as a Fastguard extended warrenty collect and return.
There is no mention of Hard disk only! ( well not that I can find)
#12
same here i doubt it would be for hard drive only as its not really stated anywhere
#13
Why is this expired ? lots of theads lately getting this treatment when its still active now.
#14
Definately still active, just no longer listed as deal of the day:
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.202-4485.aspx
#15
is that still with 3 year warranty?
#16
This deal has expired however the laptop is still available for £448.00.
This deal stated the price was £439.00. So its only another £9.00 difference.

Gotta agree with moviestar. I too have bought this laptop, and the extended warrany is a samsung fastguard EXTENDED warranty (not standard warranty!). Have registered mine and received the paperwork through post - good deal

I have been looking at the Samsung and am having a hard time deciding between it and the Vaio NR10E/S for the same price. Tesco list the Vaio as not having WiFi, which is one of the main things I need. Has anyone bought the NR10E/S from Tesco and, if so, does it have wireless access?

Any suggestions on which is the better choice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

its just dropped in price again.

its now £398!!

I bought one for my brother and liked it so much i decided to get on efor my self!

(I think the 3 year warranty thing has finished though, but i doesnt matter as my last laptop was a samsung and that has lasted for donkey's years.)
