Just spotted this laptop, £120 off makes this a bit of a bargain! Its a 17 incher (1600 x 900 native) and weighs only 2.7Kgs, same as many 15" laptops. I've just bought one, hope its not a dud!

For this price, I would expect a HDMI port or even a Blu Ray Drive. not very hot for me... No vote.

i think £120 is off the price it was released at, not really a good deal. voting lukewarm.
£5.90 more for better cpu and windows 7 from compaq http://www.ebuyer.com/product/176847

Not a computer expert myself but you would expect core 2 duo for this money, Acer 6930g 3GB Ram 250GB HD Blu Ray 15.6 in HD LED screen for around £500.

Ultralight for a 17" so has a lot going for it.

I went into Staples this lunchtime and had a look at the CompaQ... I really can't use the touchpad, its awful, and its 3KGs. I preferred the Samsung.

The CPU isn't the best but it depends what you need it for. Its plenty fast enough for me :)

As for the other comments... remember this is a 17.3" laptop. Sure, if we were talking about a 15" laptop you could throw in Bluray and a better CPU for sure, but in a 17" laptop you're talking well over £500 for that

Someone will probably shoot me down in flames in typical impolite hotukdeals fashion, but from what I remember reading, these are not the same as the old Pentium dual core, but are in fact the same as core two duo, or if not the same, then the equivalent.
