Personally, I'd sacrifice a little of the HDD space for an i3 processor - there's a few about at this sort of price. If you need the big hard drive, externals are cheap and internals are easy to swap over. If you do need that space for media usage, the better processor is likely to be more beneficial anyway.

Core 2 Duo's like this are about £150 on fleabay. With less hard drive and Vista not 7.

Old tech, would not bother to buy one even at this price.

Is that supposed to be a good comparison?

No a bad one. Unless you want to pay £234 for Windows 7 and a hard drive?

RE: your previous comment, Sainsbury's do core i3 for £300, by emachines. It's on here too. Take your £84 change and add 4gb (£35), a bigger hard drive (500gb for £30-£40) and a round of drinks.
#7
I only mentioned it 'cos I need to sell my Core 2 as I recently bought a core i3.
#8
I see yours has 1MB cache? The £150 one's on ebay have around 4MB.

Amazon, Currys, Dabs, all have them. Take your pick. Google is your friend.

Oh, wait, not just any i3, you want a _Samsung_ i3.

Best I got is this, http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/emachines-e732-core-i3-2gb-250gb-15-6-laptop-299-99-instore-sainsburys/887318

Which I saw in store last week.

Ok the T4500 is not a Core 2 Duo, but is it any good? Is it limited to 4GB RAM in this laptop? If so I'd be tempted to call it old technology.
#14
It is limited to 4GB, sorry, but I stand by my previous posts.
#15
You can be tempted to call it what you like, but you can't tempted me with peaches, mangos maybe, how do you like them apples?

If you want everything bang up to date you have to pay through the nose for it mate, if you got £360 quid to spend this ain't a bad deal for the spec IMHO if you wanna spend a lot more for top of the range kit, then these are the guys for you.

Or pretty much the same unit for less:

Ok it's only 2gb ram and slightly smaller HDD, but 2GB ram wouldn't cost £90.

Most people won't fill 500gb on a laptop.
