nice find, I have been lookig for a good camera fo fit my budget for a while, this one sems perfect, i have just reserved and will collect tomorrow. Not too bothered about the batteries as you can get rechargeable ones that last w hile as someone has posted on the amazon reviews...Well Done!

Also there is another samsung for £59 on play.com (7MP)

good deal.

surely rechargeable AAs are better than some hard-to-find propriatory batteries, and if you're caught short just pop into a shop for duracells.

That's one school of thought, on the other hand most rechargeable batteries don't hold their charge well (Eneloops and similar are an exception) which means you have to rely on alkaline AA batteries. I find li-ion proprietary to hold their charge far better, I usually keep one backup battery but for my compact cameras I rarely run out on their main battery. My last AA camera (Fuji S7000) left me fed up with AA batteries, usually I had to have the batteries charged up the night before or they just didn't last. I tended to have to fall back to a li-ion based camera instead which even when it hadn't been charged in a couple of months still usually had power.
