Are these deals a ball ache to do?! Read some previous posts saying people have had problems and not always straight forward?!

Cold. Don't have the incendiary grenade app like the Note 7.

;)

As much as I want this, I can't help but think it's not worth the risk. The previous suffering by other HUKD members (attempting a similar deal) is a warning sign that this can go horribly wrong. For some that means a adversely affected credit rating, whilst for othersmit means large sums of money being taken from their accounts (without permission or knowledge) and an enduring battle with O2 to try and recover it.

I'm not voting either way on this but if it were on price alone, I'd vote hot ;)

it doesn't work out that much more for the lower data plans.

I've done the refresh deal twice and this is a good price for the edge. My advice is to make sure you have some spare cash in your account as o2 will most likely charge you extra and it'll take a few days to get it back from them

I've just done this to get a Z5. Cancelled the airtime on the second day and paid the device off. Just had my first bill and they've charged me full line rental, which they said they wouldn't. My online bill shows that they were going to charge £491 'early cancellation charge' on my next bill, until I rang them yesterday and they said they would amend the mistake. We'll see...

Used it last time, went through fine , charged me £21 for a months airtime then a few days later got letter confirming refund. Credit rating unaffected too.

mixed experiences....some good, some bad. if you are willing to take a chance, this is probably a good deal. if not, hand fire for Black Friday and cross your fingers that something better will come. :)

I've used o2 refresh this way twice now. First time they tried to charge me the full line rental but as soon as I brought it up with customer services the bill was cancelled. Second time everything went through fine so seems to be a bit mixed and dependent on the customer service agent you get when you cancel the contract

Need advice pls. Anyone have any experience with dual sim variant? Are these legit and do they work just as well as UK single sim type in this country? Tempted to go for a brand new dual sim one off ebay (and yes, I am aware of the fleabay risks) :)

Any help appreciated

What's the deal with warranty on refurbs?
#23
I did the refresh deal for a new s6 in the January sale. Would they let me do it again given that it isn't that long since I cancelled the contract?

If you have the money, let them take £491. Then complain and get £50 compensation!
They paid my wife, when I complained on her behalf. Complaints were outsourced to Capita and they offered £50 compensation and a refund.

12 months.

Had two of these deals but have knocked points off my credit score as they so a credit check each time. Not idea as was getting a mortgage at the time.

o2 refresh charged me £270ish for "early termination" charge on the airtime.

Spoke to them and they immediately said it was a mistake, I really got the impression that it happens a lot as I did not mention what the actual problem was, they just looked at my bill when I asked.

They told me to wait 5 to 10 working days for them to give me it back, they can't do it any quicker apparently.

So yeah, just beware of that...

Does anyone know if the phone will be locked to O2?

Beware - Samsung have an extreme backlog on spares for these phones presently. If you make a warranty claim you'll be without a phone for over a month.

how can you cancel airtime no comebacks

yes they are! got the s6 for £200. did everything as advised, canx airtime within 2 days of getting it. one month later they took £580 from my account in error as they said it was because I had ended the contract early. obviously I hit the roof, took about 8 phone calls before I got someone who knew what they were talking about. had to contact my bank to do a direct debit indemnity to get the cash back. whole carry on took over 2 weeks to sort. Never again.

This happend to me but it was resolved very quickly. Cancelling the phone was very straightforward only took one quick call. Then 2 weeks later £400 was taken out of my account and made me overdrawn. I called o2 to check and they said it was a system error and they would put in a form to refund it, which would take up to 2 weeks! Quick call to first direct and they cancelled it that day.
