I posted last week at £590 with subsequent price drop same day to £585. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-s8-silver-black-orchid-grey-585-amazon-italy-sold-amazon-eu-sarl-delivered-2677026
Since the price drop today and week it's been since, I thought it warranted a new thread

This is the cheapest way to get the new S8. Get yourself a cheapo £8-12/mo sim only plan and you're laughing to the bank.

If you're interested in depreciation...
The phone will still be worth about £250 after 2 years, so you will have lost £275 in 2 years, or £2.64/week. That's the true cost of this owning phone, assuming you sell at the two year mark.

FAQ answered:
-Sold and delivered by Amazon EU SarL
-delivered in about 5-7 days free shipping p&p
-Unlocked, can accept any sim
-Full Samsung 2 year warranty EU wide. Amazon Italy also accept returns for repair in this period.
-Language is set at first start up - select English
-Don't use Amazon's exchange rate - your credit card's is better
-be sure to select "Amazon EU SarL" as a seller if it's showing as anything different! I wouldn't recommend buying from any third party sellers on any Amazon site. You can find this in "New from..." link on the product page if it's not defaulting to Amazon EU

What about customs/VAT upon arrival? Does that apply or is it included? It would be an extra £113! I've been stung on multiple items from China.

This is a benefit of being in the EU and buying from an EU member, no additional tax applies

Someone hasn't heard about TPU rubber shock absorbing cases? They've saved my S4 and S6 edge from a lot of falls. Neither had a single scratch when I sold them at the 2 year mark

I don't claim to be an expert, but the major marketing push of this phone is its screen. Why buy a phone for its "infinity" screen and then put an ugly rubber bezel around it?
It defeats all the "look and feel" of the device.

Buy the world's most easily breakable phone? No thanks!Soon after its release, electronics insurance company SquareTrade put Samsung's new flagship phone through its breakability test, a series of drops, dunks, and tumbles. It was deemed the most breakable phone of all time: "S8 is the first phone we've tested that's cracked on the first drop on ALL sides,"[ https://hardware.slashdot.org/story/17/05/09/1715209/repair-shops-are-stoked-that-the-samsung-galaxy-s8-is-the-most-fragile-phone-ever-made ]

I'd be very wary of trusting SquareTrade with this. They are a company that sell protection plans afterall. ;)

Yes, i was looking at the S8 Plus which was €796 from Amazon.it last week, but i missed the boat. There are some at that level but from Italian marketplace suppliers..

Call in an educated guess, since that's what I sold my S4 for at the 24 month mark, and subsequently my S6 edge+.

I'll probably get the S9 if it's substantially improved, or if not definitely the S10, assuming Samsung keeps its winning streak going!

Prevention is better than cure. You wouldn't want to damage that screen and spend on repairing it rather use a case and protect it.

Get a case that doesn't cover up the edge

It's not that hard really

You still get the beautiful curve, and solid feel in your hand.

Drop any phone without a case on and see how well that goes

By using your Credit Card to pay in Euros rather than asking Amazon to convert to GBP.

I ordered on April 29th and the last tracking was a warehouse in Germany 7 days ago. It could be cheaper in the UK by the time it arrives.

I'm so tempted by this but I'm an iPhone user but with all the rumours of the 8 being delayed, costing $1000 so I assume at least £900 here I don't know if it's worth waiting and paying so much.

I've been waiting for the Plus too... I emailed Amazon Italy and they just said it would be 2-4 weeks before they get it in and are able to send them out. Which I already knew so not much help on stock update lol

Not sure whether to just bite the bullet and go for the smaller screen.

Just sold my S6 64GB to Envirophone and got £130 ... bought it for £450 two years ago so, using that logic it's far more likely this will be well inside £200 in two years time.

If you care about residuals - buy an iPhone.

Sorry forgot what was said about the charger in the previous deal and there is now hundreds of comments to trawl.

What charger do you receive and if its Euro plug, will an old Samsung charger work instead? Thanks

Samsung use region locking, so use the phone in the UK for 5 minutes and then you can take it to Australia.

I'm floating between the two but for the money between them, the extra spec on the S8 probably shades it for me. 32gb and SD821 is a bit disappointing in 2017. Although the screen, design and the dual cameras seem like a winner

The drop tests on YouTube show it out surviving an iPhone 7.
