Looks like an excellent deal for an external Dual Layer DVD burner...

Guy at work has his in with him today and I was trying to see if it would work with my Joggler - sadly not is the short answer, but would like to do more digging! Cracking little drive

Would this perform well 'backing up' my dvd collection?

Anyone used this with a macbook pro (my internal drive is kaput)? One of the reviews says it didn't work.

Review on amazon website by Michael Capp:

"Compact, feels solid, reasonably quiet after a brief initial spin-up.

Works fine with a MacBook Pro (for reading, at least; I don't burn discs). One warning here, though: it needs two USB ports to draw sufficient power, and the extra branch of the supplied cable is only about 3 inches long. Given the dumb decision to only put 2 USB ports on current Mac laptops, and to put them on opposite sides of the machine, this means that a) you won't be able to plug in anything else while using it, and b) you'll need a USB extension lead. "

Bear in mind that this review is a little out of date. The June-2009 Macbook models all have at least TWO USB slots on the left hand side, next to each other.

£37.68 from Ebuyer delivered
£39.47 from Scan (free delivery via AV Forums)
£38.22 from Dixons (not sure about delivery)

So not much cheaper, I got quite excited when I first saw this thread but alas it was nothing to get excited about.

You can get a pink one too (only 2 in stock) for all you ladies with pink laptops/notebooks/netbooks http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-129-SA
