when 95% of people are getting a new laptop, notebook, ultrabook e.t.c. its normally because there old one is screwed, broke or cant even hold a charge for 20 minutes, read small print first before taking your old heep of junk to pcworld/currys to try and trade it in.

but the £100 cash back on the samsung website seems good.

but read the big print. 'netbook'. lots of people have netbooks which still work, and this is a nice upgrade to a 2 year old netbook ;) I'm gonna hedge my bets and go with this deal. See how much I get for my old computer

i agree it is a good deal, i thought i was speaking for the majority when saying our laptops were all heaps of junk, i know mine cant hold a charge for that long, let me know how you get on with the trade in

Very tempted! I can get 10% off through a work employee discount scheme and have an old Acer Aspire A110 lying about!

    650 - 10% = 585 - 100 - 150 = 335 if everything works out....bargain!

Can only students get the cash back?

Hmmmm not in stock anywhere near me, after reading the amazon reviews I'd want to test before purchase.

Please don't get bogged down on reviews on the wrong ultrabook. Take note of the specific name, 'np530u3c-a04-uk.'
Amazon sell this model at £811 with no reviews, and no-one has even written a review except the one on the currys website. It doesnt even show up on samsung.com except the support guides for it. Very hidden ultrabook even though the specs are all good. Windows rates it 5.6 out of 7.9 (desktop performance) with everything else in the 6's and 7's except the hard drive (5.9)

Yes, maybe. It doesn't say that exactly, but it says you need to have bought it from a proper retailer, so you could be right. Even though I doubt many people have the receipt of a 5 year old laptop (up to 6 years old as it is stated) so maybe not.

That is a bargain! Wish I could get 10% off AS WELL ;) Good luck with your purchase!

I believe this deal is for everyone, because its classed as a promotion. Nowhere in the samsung terms does it say 'you need to be a student at a uni' and its the same cashback scheme as the galaxy tab 7.0 £30 cashback, which is available to everyone

Tried this with an early eee pc at the Barnstaple store. Staff had No idea of the deal just pointed to a prnt out of the T&C which were very vague. When I asked if the eee counted they said it needed an optical drive to count but when pushed even that they weren't sure about. Ultimately one of the more helpful (but not by much.) he said chances are when I send back the eee pc they will give barely anything for it and I will end up paying pretty much full price. Worth noting that you pay full whack then post off your old machine which they then value and refund, if you dont like their valuation you have to pay £15 to get the old one back.

Looks like stocks have been updated and they are in all local stores to me now, will take a trip out and check it out. Wonder how it compares to a Mac.

It is now showing at £649 on the link. Have I missed something? Thanks in advance.

It clearly states on the website that netbooks are accepted. I think its unfair if they dont offer the full £150 if the computer fulfils their criterion but then again it wouldn't be the first time DSG haven't acted fairly

Are the Samsung cash back and currya cash back limited to just the laptop?

    Thanks
