That is crazy for an OEM drive especially since the retail drive with software and such is only £66.25:

And i've just noticed the overclockers drive IS the retail drive, so very good price.

When will these be £13.99 and when will I actually find a need for one, good price, hot.
#6
No real hurry for these imo, prices will just keep dropping cos of the sheer numbers shipping - at some point Dell or somebody will include them as standard and they'll drop to £20.
suspended#7
not really, the reason the price is low is because the samsung 12x is coming soon, they are getting rid of stock. the new drives will likely retain the same £75+ pricetag.

Sorry you had a bad experience with them. I brought over £3000 over the years with them and not had any problems.

I've stopped buying from them for 2 reasons. Firstly I've had problems with them in the past with it taking ages for their customer service to sort things out! And secondly the company is owned by a neo-nazi.

Overclockers are great when things go well, I mean they ship fast, have great shipping options, and a well designed web-site (compared to eBuyer or Dabs). The problem with them I've found is that when something goes wrong they are sometimes impossible to get hold of at all - as in literally don't pick up the phones.

I found Dabs who often charges a similar price VERY helpful when something goes wrong. I would almost say Dab's customer service is on par with Amazon's in terms of how efficient and non-nonsense it is.

I typically find what I want on the US site NewEgg, and buy from Dabs, Amazon, or eBuyer now in that order.

That's a serious claim, what evidence do you have to support it? If you can convince me that this is correct I will be sure never to use them.

try doing a google search for "overclockers racist" that should help:)

I've found them great when things are going well. When I had to RMA a faulty item things were not so good...

Still not what I would call hard evidence, however I found many people saying the same thing so on balance and given many reports of poor service I'll be going with Dabs: http://www.dabs.com/products/best-value-samsung-s-ata-blu-ray-combo-player--8x-read--retail-6KWL.html

But will people take advice from someone who doesn't know the difference between "brought" and "bought" ??? ;-)

I've noticed that a lot of people confuse those two words but I think it's a bit harsh to imply that they have nothing of value to say.

Be careful. If you dig deeper, you'll see that there are just a handful of people making these allegations - and like you, I could find no actual proof of anything anywhere (there were also a few incorrect threads about the company going into liquidation too!)

It's not outside the realms of possibility that a small number of people are annoyed at the company / owner, and are making these comments to damage their business.

Remember that you can't believe anything you see on the internet :w00t:

This is what I was thinking. Its very easy to make allegations like that but people who do run the risk of ending up in court. In any case, I found enough people complaining about poor customer service to make me decide to go with Dabs who I have used many times before.
