Yep - This drive is fine.

Quite easy to install, just have a quick google search or open up your PC case and you can see how easy it is to fit.

Thanks, im not sure if I need a IDE drive or SATA for the vostro, is it IDE?

Just had a look, seems my dell vostro is ATA, so guessing I have got to get the £18 version of the drive with Sata connections. :(
#8
Oops forgot to tell you that, sorry!

You can buy a converter IDE to SATA from eBay

The vostro is SATA only afaik, so get the sata version. I'd recommend the Pioneer 115 over the samsung, but I'm sure the samsung will be fine.

Yes, eBay is not welcomed in posts - I'm sure the FAQ will tell you why... something along the lines of 'the site doesn't make money from eBay whereas it does with retailers).

Please don't ever buy from ebay. It is full of scammers and con artists.

Sorry have to disagree there, its full of naive moron buyers who dont believe in "if its too good to be true then maybe it isnt" :w00t:

I sell lots of stuff on ebay and the price of my single item is approx £2000 ! People buy on trust after checking my feedback which I try hard to maintain and it aint easy as some will tell you specially when it comes to used cars ! Not everyones a scammer you just have to be careful, how many idiots have sent western union payments for grands for a car worth £30,000 that was advertised for £6000.... umm yeh cors it will be shipped over from Germany ! I feel for them but come on a bit of common sense !

I have a Vostro and I can confirm that there is no IDE support - even the PSU does not have molex plugs on. Go SATA, and don't forget to buy a SATA cable as well.
I'll just add that the reason these drives are going cheap is because IDE support is gradually being phased out. So you may not get as much use out of these IDE drives as you would from SATA. Saving a few ££s now may cost you more in the long run if you have to replace the drive next time you upgrade the PC.

I'll second that
The feedback system is a total joke too.
No one dare leave negative feedback for fear of receiving it back.
Sellers Should have to give feedback as soon as payment is received, not wait until they see what feedback they get first.
I've purchased from a seller based on feedback before only to find it was fake.
I left negative feedback and promptly received negative feedback.
Then I got hassled buy the seller to mutually withdraw the feedback.
But I refused and contacted Ebay who never even responded

Its out of stock unfortunatly. But the S203N, the SATA model is £17.99 OEM without the cables, but the cables cost like a quid eacfh so its a major bargain. My old PIONEER 108 is on the fritz so its a great time for me to get a new burner.

Yep also agree.
The feedback system is totally geared towards protecting the sellers as that is where eBay make there cash from. The buyer should not be forced by a seller to leave feedback first or have automated feedback replies. Total joke, and just shows that eBay is not interested in buyers getting a fair deal via there service.
