Looks like a decent monitor, but is £258 a bargain?
#3
Comes up at £269 including delivery. Some promising reviews - looks like a good buy.

£258 is quite a nice price for an unreleased monitor. I did try to compare prices of other 22" montiors before posting, however given all the specs for these monitors it is hard to judge. I could only find 1 other 2ms response time 22" widescreen which had previously been posted here at around £280.

Nice Specs for that Price.. :)

It's a similar price here:

Not sure how much delivery is though...

I`m waiting for this to come in somewhere.
Ocuk are sorting out price/delivery with samsung so hopefully it won`t remain at the 260 mark.
Euro pc had this for 226 one day,215 the next now suddenly its vanished!(none were in stock anyway).

Pc world business have it for 239 inc vat when it gets in stock

komplett seem only one getting it soon on 14/2 by the looks.

Play had the 20" model recently for 185(gone up since) so hopefully price will be about 230 ish if not less. You can get the 22" Belinea for that price.

Keep your eyes peeled guys and post if you spot it anywhere in stock
Cheers:thumbsup:

Would be good if the price did drop, I notice they also now have the 20" variant of this monitor at £234.99 + delivery, stock due in the same day as the 22" which is now 28/2/07.

Hi, thinking about getting one of these for my new pc but was wondering about the refresh rate.Could you please confirm whether or not the refresh rate is 75hz at the native res of 1680x1050?
I cant seem to get confirmation of this from anywhere, even the samsung site is a bit vague about it.

refresh rates such as 75hz don't actually equate to LCD monitors they all run at a generic 60hz (which doesnt really mean anything), what you need to look at is the response time, and as this one is 2ms you should get no ghosting or lag

Thanks for the reply but i dont agree and i speak from experience as i already use a samsung 913N LCD with 8ms response.
Gaming at 60hz refresh rate, is enough to give me a headache in fps such as ET and its quite visible to me that it IS 60hz but at 75hz the screen is super smooth and much more pleasant to use.My brother in laws 19" LCD is 4ms response rate and its the same story when playing fps on his rig too at 60hz/75hz and native res.
I basically wanted a widescreen monitor primarily for gaming and if it cant do 75hz at the native res then i would be wasting my money and would rather stick with my 4:3 monitor.

Hz doesn't apply to LCD TFT's for a very simple reason. There is no electron gun. Basically a CRT has an electron gun and can fire electrons 50 times per second i.e. 50Hz and so on. With a TFT, pixels are individually lit and are in fact static so what you should be looking for is the response rate which tells you how fast a pixel can change.

does this have a tv tuner in it?

I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy from OCUK unless you're already a card carrying member of the BNP or KKK.
