The Samsung SM2032MW is the perfect monitor/analogue TV combo.

With a super fast response time of 5ms and an intense pixel resolution of 1680 x 1050 this Samsung LCD is perfectly suited to gaming and TV alike.

Given its dual role in life, you'd expect this 20" Samsung HD LCD to be well equipped with sockets, and that's exactly what it is. For PC sources there's a choice of analogue VGA, DVI and, of course HDMI. The latter two work equally for video sources, while other sources are catered for by the component, S-Video, SCART and composite inputs. In short, there's not much that can't be connected to the 2032!

In addition to its supreme flexibility, this 20 inch LCD TV is also something of a looker. With its high gloss black finish and typically soft edges, the SM2032MW is sleek and sexy and makes most other 20" screens look positively crude by comparison. With a depth of just 7cm, this Samsung 20" LCD is also one of the slimmest TVs on the market.

Finally, just to make the Samsung SM2032MW even more compelling, the power consumption is one of the lowest in its class. At just 45 watts, the Samsung LCD uses less power than the majority of light bulbs. Bright thinking from Samsung!

Please note. This TV is NOT wall mountable.

Additional stuff:

The resolution is 1680x1050 but will accept full 1080i HD via HDMI. Not sure how this works - but the SKY HD picture is excellent!

I bought this a while ago, and paid £179.99 for it - a bargain even then as Currys had it was £239.99

It's only got an analog tuner, but the connections available is staggering for a small monitor-style screen.

I have Sky HD connected via HDMI @ 1080i, X360 via VGA, and PC VIA VGA as a second monitor (my cheap PC monitor doesn't support HDCP so I need this connected!)

The picture quality is very good, and although the stand is a nightmare to put together, build quality seems decent enough.

You can buy online, or in the stores - just remember to ask them for the web price. They will also refund you your parking fee if you are a genuine potential customer (even if you don't buy anything).

You can also reserve and collect, but this is a manual process - ring them and ask :)
You might also wanna try and print this out for a nice freebie:
not much interest then!

I think people are comparing it to this in the back of their heads:

TBH i was as well even though it's an unfair comparison!
ita fair point. Better pixel density on this though - and its a samsung! :)
Does this TV have a headphone input? If it does I will definitely be purchasing one for my bros birthday. Good deal mate, thanks
I've got this TV/monitor and couldn't be happier with it! Paid £179.99 for it in Sept 08 so this is HOT imo!

I believe it produces a 1080i (and 1080p i think) picture by scaling the sides of the screen a bit. When I use my PS3 on it, the sides of the game are cut off slightly. 720p is fine though and that's good enough for me.

p.s. it does have a headphone jack, on the left hand side..
Thanks oldmanhouse. Is Richer Sounds closing down tomorrow? I was gonna pop in tomorrow to get this TV but I just noticed it says this :(

Prices valid in store (all including VAT) until the close of business on the date below (some of these web prices are cheaper than in-store, so please mention that you’ve seen these offers online)
Wednesday 08-04-2009.
I don't think it means they're closing down for good. "Close of business" probably just means the time when the store shuts on Wednesday 8th (at 6pm or whenever your local one happends to close). Looks like this deal expires today then so anyone wanting it be quick!!
hi i hope somebody could give me some advice please....

im looking for a tv for the bedroom, this samsung looks as if it doubles as a pc monitor, which is great!

but what functionality does it lose by doing both jobs? is the picture quality effected eg with ps3 etc....

i have a freind who works at argos and has said he can get the following:

Grundig TV Freeview and built in DVD 19 inch - £ 140
Bush HD Ready Digital LCD 22 inch - £ 140
LG LCD 19 inch - £ 140

are these good deals? i doubt they can also double as a pc monitor so i know its hard to compare, but for an extra tenner isnt this samsung a much better deal?

also my samsung 37 inch comes with a mtte screen so you dont get a reflection/glare/mirror image on the screen.....

does this come with one also?

This deal is either back in stock or is just still running but the VIP email i just got from them has it at the very top. I have posted again but put a link to the this OP. Is a very good buy in fairness.

you did :D
i bought this tv/monitor over a year ago from richer sounds when it was £200. It is a cracking set and looks great with my 360 via hdmi (accepts 1080p). Looks really sleek as well, voted hot. bargain for 150.
I've also got this to use as a second monitor with my laptop and to play my PS3 whilst the OH is watching those craft programs on the big TV.

It's a SAMSUNG - picture is good on both video and monitor and the set looks lovely - I paid quite a bit more for it (c'est la vie!) and thought it was worth it, but now at the lower price you'd be daft not to.
Typical Richer Sounds. No stock for Online sale, but check with local Store. Another gimmick to get you into Stores then switch sell. Its always the same with this outfit.
I bought one of these in July 08 when it was £180 and i thought it was a great deal then! Currently use it for my PC (good for gaming), my xbox 360 and my Wii. Not tried a tv signal with it yet bcos its in the same room as my big telly, but I'm guessing it would be good.
