Does not have Freeview tuner but Freeview tuners can be bought for less than £20

We brought this for our son for Christmas for his room and can vouch for it being a fantastic tellly!
#4
Forgive my ignorance but what kind of HD is this? 1080i/p? Etc?
#5
It can accept both inputs but scales down to 1680 x 1050 pixels or something similar.
Its a good TV but I find if you have to be level with the TV to see a good picture.
From an angle its ok, but if the TV is up higher its not great.

Good price but would rather pay more and get built in Freeview

Really good price...got one two weeks ago and its got more inputs than anything else close to this size & price...brilliant as a monitor because its not too big for the proximity and excellent with games consoles..(have xbox 360 linked via vga, PS3 via HDMI, dvd player via component, Sky box via Scart, freeview box via composite and PC via DVI-D) :w00t:

Really good price...got one two weeks ago and its got more inputs than you can shake a stick at...brilliant TV/monitor.

picture quality is good from a pc, ok for tv pictures....build quality is laughable and the stand is a joke....which is why i didnt buy one for my computer...bought the samsung 226cw instead...

What's wrong with the build quality?

And the stand is fine, it's held up my TV for the last couple of months which is what it's supposed to do isn't it?

is this full HD? how do i check?

1080p/i = 1920×1080

This will not do that, hence the highest HD is will display is 720p

I'll vote Hot as this looks good value for what your paying.

As for no freeview I don't see this as a bad thing. Freeview boxes can be had for as little as £18 and if this TV had freeview built-in you'd have to send the whole unit off for repair if things went wrong. Keeping the freeview unit external in my mind is no bad thing.

Personally I had the Goodmans 27" + HD freeview for £219 the other week and it is a cracking picture for the bedroom. There are some bargains to be had at the lower end of the LCD price bracket.

Those people voting cold or turning their noses up - what were you expecting? Pioneer or Sony quality for £199, lol.

Actually to be really precise on this type of LCD TV the screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 pixels, which is an aspect ratio of 16:10. Basically this is a computer monitor LCD panel built into a TV chassis.

Standard widescreen TV broadcast are 16:9 hence LCD TV made with an LCD panel designed for TV use have a resolution of 1366x768 ixels.

Not that this is a problem, it is just that the image will appear squashed in the horizontal plane, i.e. people will look thinner than they should be.

No, it's a PC Monitor with a built in analogue TV tuner. It is part of the new 'Pebble' LCD monitors Samsung have brought out.

I bought one of these myself and i can say they are very good. I have it connected to my HD Graphics card on my PC via DVI. The image quality is truly amazing at 1680 x 1050 max resolution. This monitor has very high specifications for the price you pay. It has 15pin D-sub, DVI-D, HDMI, CVBS, S-Video, SCART and Component connections. It is fully HD compatible and it will support 1080p but it will scale the image down to its maximum resolution. This Samsung monitor looks very sleek with the glossy piano black frame

Overall this is a top of the range HD LCD TV Monitor of it's size and i would highly recommend it.
