This is a great TV and monitor, I've got my XBOX 360 on the HD connection, my PC connected and sky connected with scart. I paid £230 for it 12 months ago. highly recommended.

Save your money for a proper HD TV.
This doesn't have HDMI for starters.

Bought one in October 2006 from Argos, they advertised it as HD Ready. I wanted it to use with PS3.
When I got the PS3 12 months later, it wouldn't work, Argos changed their advertising to state, "This TV Is Not Compatible With PS3". They also removed the reference to the tv being HD Ready.

I did some research on this tv and went into Argos 13 months after buying it and got a full refund.

Got one of these.

Its is HD-Ready as its meets the minimum requirements of

At least 720 lines in widescreen format (it has 900lines as native res is 1440x900 in 16:10)
Accepts 720p,1080i @ 50/60hz
DVI(HDCP) and component inputs along with separate stereo inputs for both

I have used it for Xbox360 using VGA and component and it will take 1080p over the latter.

HOWEVER and this is where some may be falling foul, the earlier models (mine included) do not seem to accept 480/576 over DVI so with the SkyHD box set to Auto it will not display SD channels. Set the SkyHD box to force 720p or 1080i and it works fine. PS3 seems to need the same forcing res to work.

Note this limitation does not affect its HDReady status as that makes NO reference to needing to accept 480/576p.

Other than that it is a brilliant display as panel does not suffer from LCD colour changing as you move around it.like cheaper TN type LCD panels do.

Hope that helps

In light of the above, what extra will I need to play an XBox 360 in HD on this?
#14
I use the VGA cable and run it at 1280x720 but it will also run at 1280x768 which is very slightly closer to the 16:10 aspect ratio this monitor actually is.

Nothing. The 360 works fine with this monitor through component or VGA (haven't tried HDMI, I don't have a 360 or this monitor any more, but when I did, component and VGA worked perfectly).

I would recommend component, just because it crops the image rather than distorts it. I'd rather have an option to letterbox it though, but the TV doesn't do that.
