If your ink dried up then you should take it back as it is a thermal printer and therefore does not really contain "ink." Each print will do 4 passes over the photo paper, effectively a yellow print, a blue print, a red print and a clear coating layer. The three colour passes make up every possible colour (think RGB on your TV) and each cartridge will contain 120 sheets of each colour and clear layer, printing no more and no less than 40 photos. It's cheaper to buy the 120 pack and that is just 3 of the 40 packs in a bigger box. I've been more than happy with my sp2040 (the one with the LCD) and the printing mechanism is identical to this 2020.
